Title: 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic Only Three Weeks Away Post by LMR on 09/30/10 at 1:58pm For Immediate Release Contact: Ben Shelton (msrmafia@gmail.com) September 30th, 2010 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic Only Three Weeks Away Meridian, Mississippi (9/30/10) Less than three weeks remains until the 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi roars to life on Thursday-Saturday, October 21st-23rd, 2010. For the sixteenth straight year, many of the best competitors in the nation and the region will converge on the southeast Mississippi facility to contend for their respective championships. The 1/3 mile, clay oval is known for its consistently racy surface, which is prepared and maintained by racing veteran, Rodney Wing. The 2010 edition of the event will be headlined by a $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start Super Late Model event, which boasts a total Super Late Model purse in excess of $55,000. Ronny Lee Hollingsworth from Northport, Alabama won a thrilling event in 2010, and will be back to defend his title in the 100 lap event against a talented field of competitors, which will likely include other former event champions including Wendell Wallace, Jimbo McDuffie, Chris Wall, David Breazeale, David Ashley, and Brian Birkhofer. Calls are already flooding in from drivers and fans for this year’s event, which could very well be the biggest in the history of the Coors Light Fall Classic. Super Late Model competitors should note that they have until to October 17th, 2010 to file an early entry for $50. After this date, the entry fee will be $150. Competitors may file an early entry by simply calling Ben Shelton at 901-335-3037 or Jannie Thrash at 601-486-3410. All Super Late Model non-qualifiers will receive $50. Crate Late Models will also be co-headline the event as they wage war for $2,000 to win/$125 to start during the course of the event. The Open Wheel Modified division is being sponsored by Land Sharks Inc., and will boast a $2,500 to win/$125 to start payout. The Street Stock division will be headlined by a $1,000 to win/$75 to start program, while the Kajun Mini Stocks will also light up the sky as they battle for $1,000 to win. The entry fee for Crate Late Models and the LSI Open Wheel Modifieds is $50 with all non-qualifiers receiving $50. Pure Stocks will run a complete show on Friday night for $250 to win/$30 to start, while the Stinger division will run a complete show on Saturday night for $250 to win/$30 to start. Open practice begins Thursday night, October 21st at 7:00 PM for all divisions. Friday night is preliminaries night, as the 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic Super Late Models qualify and run heat races as they attempt to make the feature field. Crate Late Models will also qualify and run heat races. Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, and KMSA Mini Stocks will run their heats while the Pure Stock division will contest a complete program B-Mains for all divisions will be contested on Saturday night along with the 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic Championships.
