Anthony Burroughs Set To Clinch SRRS Title This Saturday

Muscle Shoals, Alabama (10/12/10) – By taking the green flag in the feature event this Saturday night at Cleveland Speedway (Cleveland, Tennessee) Anthony Burroughs will clinch his first Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) championship in his #121 Tucker’s Mobile Home Service/Mastersbilt By Stuckey/Wall-2-Wall Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Despite not competing in some of the early season events with the tour, Anthony Burroughs has put together a late season run that has seen him charge to the top of the points. With only one event remaining for the series in 2010, all that Anthony has to do is take the green flag in the feature to become the 2010 SRRS Champion.

Anthony will enter the final SRRS event of 2010 this Saturday at Cleveland Speedway (Cleveland, Tennessee) in the Grant Adcox Memorial. The $4,000 to event will see the tour regulars go head-to-head with many of East Tennessee’s best drivers. Last weekend Anthony entered a single event as he entered a $3,000 to win event at Duck River Speedway (Wheel, Tennessee) on Saturday night. Twenty-nine Super Late Models entered the event on a hooked up racing surface, which saw Terry English shatter the eleven year old track record. Anthony qualified 2nd fastest in his group to lock into the fifth starting spot for the main event. He would maintain the fourth spot for much of the event before third place runner, Josh Putnam, slowed late in the event, allowing Burroughs to advance to a third place finish behind race winner, Terry English, and Jeff Watson.
