Scott James Takes Upcoming Weekend Off Following Top Ten at Eldora

(BRIGHT, INDIANA) Scott James and his #83 team ventured to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on October 8-9 for the annual running of the 'UMP Nationals.' The finale of the UMP DIRTcar Series season paid $5,000 to the winner. Scott laid down the fastest lap in his group during qualifying on Friday night at the "Big E" and later ran third in his heat race on Saturday evening to earn a coveted starting spot in the 'UMP Nationals.' After rolling off from the outside of the ninth row in the A-Main, the Bright, Indiana native charged up through the stout field and passed ten competitors en route to a solid eighth place performance. The Scott James Motorsports team has opted to take the upcoming October 15-16 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition, but is scheduled to return to action the following weekend. A $5,000 top prize will be up for grabs in the ‘Fall 50’ at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday, October 23. Next up for the Scott James Motorsports team will be a trip to the 5/8-mile West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, West Virginia on October 15-16 for the 30th Annual ‘Dirt Track World Championship.’ The $50,000 to win crown jewel spectacular will kick off this Friday night with qualifying and heat races. On Saturday evening at “The Speedplant,” consolation races and the 100-lap main event will be the focus of the huge racing weekend.
