Wendell Wallace Readies for Deuces Wild Weekend Following Successful Trip to Baton Rouge

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Wendell Wallace and his #88 Dirt Late Model team ventured to the Baton Rouge Raceway in Baker, Louisiana on October 8-9 for the annual 'Louisiana State Championship' weekend. Wendell kicked off his weekend by laying down the fastest lap during O'Reilly SUPR Series qualifying on Friday night, which gave him the pole position for a non-points preliminary event. The Batesville, Arkansas native dominated the 20-lapper to record the $1,000 prelim victory on Friday.

In heat race action at Baton Rouge, Wendell charged from the fifth starting spot to take the win in his heat race. The driver known as the "Batesville Bullet" then rolled off from the inside of the second row in Saturday's $2,500 to win 'Louisiana State Championship.' Unfortunately, the track was one-grooved throughout the 50-lap affair and Wendell rode in line to finish third behind winner Rob Litton and runner-up Kyle Cummings. Full results from the action-packed weekend can be located online at www.suprracing.com.

"Our Victory Circle car was good last weekend at Baton Rouge, especially on Friday night," commented Wallace via telephone earlier this week. "I think we had a shot to sweep the weekend, but unfortunately the track took rubber early in the feature on Saturday. There wasn't a whole lot of racing going on, so I just had to ride in line in the third spot. We will take a first and a third out of the weekend and prepare our equipment for a trip to Chatham this coming weekend!"

The Wendell Wallace Autosports team will return to the Bayou State this upcoming weekend (October 15-16), as the Jones Motor Speedway in Chatham, Louisiana will play host to the inaugural 'Deuces Wild' program. Preliminary action will kick-off at JMS this Friday night and the 'Deuces Wild' weekend will be highlighted on Saturday by a $5,000 to win, 50-lap main event. Additional information concerning the unsanctioned show can be found by clicking on www.jonesmotorspeedway.com.
