Chad Thrash Tops Talented Field at Whynot Motorsports Park

Meridian, Mississippi (10/19/10) – Chad Thrash considers Whynot Motorsports Park his home track and has competed there on several occasions, but on Saturday night he drove his #1c Tomkat of Chunky/Rocket/Roush Yates Racing Engine Super Late Model to his first ever Super Late Model win at the facility.

Chad entered a $1,000 to win, unsanctioned event at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) on Saturday night. A solid field of twenty-three Super Late Models were entered into the program, which served as a tune-up for the upcoming weekend's 16th Annual Fall Classic. In heat race action, Chad started second and picked up the win to earn the pole position for the feature. In the main event he would bolt to the lead early and would never look back as he claimed the win over Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Klint Byars, David Breazeale, and Jimbo McDuffie. The victory was Chad's third of 2010. Thrash had claimed a Crate Late Model win at the track, but this win marked his first ever Super Late Model win at the facility.

Chad will look to carry his momentum from the win into this weekend’s 16th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorports Park, which will be headlined by a $15,000 to win/$1,000 to start event. A strong field of national and regional talent is expected to clash at the lightning fast oval this weekend, and Thrash will be in pursuit of his biggest career win. In the 2009 edition of the event, Chad battled in the top five in the mid stages of the event before recording a disappointing 15th place finish after a late race melee. He will look for redemption in this year’s event which will get underway on Thursday, October 21st with an Open Practice Session. On Friday time trials and heat race action will be held, while Saturday will see b-main action as well as the 100 lap finale. For more information please visit www.WhynotMotorsportsPark.com .
