O'Reilly All Star Late Model Series to Support 'Winter Freeze' at Screven Motor Speedway

Camargo, IL (January 4, 2011)  The O'Reilly All Star Late Model Series along with Screven Motor Speedway officials have announced that the Super Late Model portion of the Inaugural 'Winter Freeze' will be supported by the O'Reilly All Star Late Model Series as a non-ASLMS points event to go along with the season opening event for the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions.

'This will give us a better chance to draw some racers from a different region of the country and it will give the O'Reilly All Stars Late Model Series some exposure in the south.  It doesn't change anything about the event or the rules but it just really improves the marketing ability of the entire event,' said Screven Motor Speedway Owner / Promoter James Redd Griffin.

Kelley Carlton and his KELCAR Motorsports crew will be the officiating team for the super late model portion of the event as this is not a true ASLMS sanctioned event.  'Kelley and his guys will be handling the entire super late model show from top to bottom. Guy Webb, All Star Championship Racing Inc., President, just wanted to be a part of the entire program and offered to endorse the late model portion to try and help us get some more cars down here and spread the word a little better,? Griffin added.  'We are excited about being part of the show and adding the endorsement of the O'Reilly All Star Late Model Series is a great plus for the program.  Their O'Reilly Auto Parts sponsorship gives them a national platform for event promotion to a core group of race fans and drivers.  That should help to make the show bigger and better,' stated Kelley Carlton.

Open practice will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 for both the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions and the Late Models endorsed by the O'Reilly All Star Late Model Series.  Both the sprint cars and the late models will compete in full shows on Thursday, February 3, 2011 paying $10,000-to-win for each show. Rules and race format for the Super Late Models will come from the Screven Motor Speedway Rule Book that can be found at http://allstarsprint.com/mailinglist/lt.php?id=N0UGCFpRBAFJUgkBTgMH
