Brandon Burgoon wins first of the season at Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway

PITTSBURGH, PA - April 30, 2011 - McDonald PA's Brandon Burgoon picked up his first win of 2011 in a wild feature in the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models. John Flinner grabbed the lead at the start of the event, followed by Steve Baker and Jason Rider. Flinner, Baker and Rider were setting a fast pace, with Flinner a half straight ahead of Baker, with Rider several car lengths behind. Flinner's run ended on lap 12 when he stopped on the back straight with mechanical problems. This put Baker in the lead on the restart. Baker jumped out on the start, and Rider got by him in one and two. Baker switched lanes and got under Rider in three and four, and the pair tangled, sending Rider across the track, loosing several positions, while Baker moved into first. Meanwhile, Burgoon had moved from 10th to fifth on the restart, moved into second and chased Baker. Baker and Burgoon put on a side by side battle for the next five laps, before Burgoon pulled ahead on lap 18. Burgoon led the rest of the way with Baker right behind, followed by Keith Barbara, Mike Davis, Jim Stephans, Mike Norris, Rider, Mike Johnson, Lynn Geisler and Ben Miley. Keith Barbara and Daryl Charlier won the heats, but Charlier did not start the main due to engine problems. Nineteen Late Models were on hand.

Chris Schneider looked as if he won the 25 lap Cadet Frenzoid special in the Sunoco Race Fuels DIRTcar cadets, but was DQ'ed in post race tech, giving the win to defending champ to McKees Rocks PA's Jake Simmons. Simmons grabbed the lead at the start of the race, and battled with Schneider the entire race, with Charlie DiLoretto following close behind. Simmons weathered several cautions, and held off Schneider until lap 23 when he took over the lead and led the remainder of the event. Unfortunately for Schneider, his efforts ended in tech after the race, giving the win to Simmons. Following second starting Simmons was Charlie DiLoretto, Rob Shook, Nick Kocuba, Mike Duritsky, Craig Koteles, Gary Koteles, Jesse Gould, Josh Langer, and Mike Harris. Wayne Carbo (who did not start the main), Carey McPherson, and Chris Schneider won the heats.

Kyle Lukon, Burgettstown PA won his first feature of the season in the Brougher's Machine Shop Fastrak Crate Late Models, in a superb race. Pete Rech and Laura Lukon swapped the lead a couple times in the opening laps, before Rech moved out front with Laura Lukon behind. The pair ran like that until lap 11, when 7th starting Kyle Lukon moved by Laura for second, and set after Rech. A lap 15 restart allowed Kyle to move ahead, and take the lead off Rech. Justin Lamb also got a good restart and moved into second and chased Lukon to the checker. At the finish, it was Kyle Lukon, Lamb, Rech, Laura Lukon, Colton Flinner, Ken Chernik, Ron Hall, Rusty Cade, Tyler Carson and Chris Schneider. The heats saw Justin Lamb and Kyle Lukon pick up the wins.

Bruce Takach Colerain, OH picked up his first ever PPMS win in the Miley RV Service UMP Modifieds. Takach overhauled early leader George Nicola lap 9 and lead the remainder of the event. Nicola had his best ever run to finish second followed by Clayton Kennedy, J.E. Stalder, Tom Martineck, Kari Gasser, Rich Curry, Vince Laboon, Denny Nakutis and Bill Yohe. The heats had Kari Gasser and Bruce Takach take the wins.

The Miley BP Car Wash DIRTcar Hobby Stocks had Baldwin PA's A.J. Poljak pick up his first win of the season. Poljak won over Ed Wiser, Richard Wilson, Ricky Steigerwald, Chase Evans, Hannah Ramsey, Adam Chytil, Joe Podolinsky and Dan Duseheid. A.J. Poljak took the heat race win.

Newcomer Zack Stehle, Robinson Twp. PA, won his first ever feature in the Imperial Heights Garage Young Guns. Stehle was followed by Bernie Blair Jr., Adam Carson, Todd Weldon, and Logan Crewl.
