2011 Dart Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models Season Opener - Challenge Cup XI - Dakota State Fair Speedway

The 2011 Dart Challenge Series season opener is set to take place on Saturday, June 4 at Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD. Challenge Cup XI, presented by Prostrollo General Motors, will highlight the eighth annual Wheel Jam weekend at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.

Challenge Cup XI, the first of six events scheduled in South Dakota for the Dart Challenge Series this year, will mark the ninth year that the series has visited the 3/8-mile oval. 25 of the best AMSOIL Dirt track series late model drivers from all across WISSOTA country will embark on a 40-lap feature paying $5,000 to win and $400 to start. Non-qualifiers will receive $150.

Past Challenge Series event winners at DSFS include Pat Doar in 2001, Kent Arment in 2002 and 2004, A.J. Diemel in 2006, Jeff Wildung in 2007, Marshall Fegers in 2008 and Justin Fegers in 2010. The 2009 version was canceled due to inclement weather.

In addition to the Late Models, WISSOTA Super Stocks pilots race for a $700-to-win payday and WISSOTA Midwest Modified drivers battle for a $400 top prize.

Grandstands open at 6 pm with racing beginning at 7 sharp. Adult tickets are $18 at the gate. Kids 50” inches and up are $12. Kids 50” or below are free.

Pit gates open at 4 pm with draw cutoff at 6 pm. Late Model car and driver entry fee is $150. Super Stock and Midwest Modified car and driver entry is $50. Pit passes are $30 and Transponders and raceceivers are mandatory.
