Friday Night Racing at SSP Outback Track on May 27

Newberrytown, PA (May 24, 2011) – This Saturday night, May 28 will be the next "Hometown Heroes" Night at the Susquehanna Speedway Park. Racing action next Saturday night will include the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars. Classic Cars and the Mini Vans.

The Hometown Heroes program on Saturday, May 28 will recognize all SSP drivers from Lancaster, Lebanon and Ephrata. Before the racing action begins, the drivers from these towns will have the opportunity to display their cars and meet the fans at the front gate of the speedway. The drivers will also be interviewed during the night's racing program. Also, all fans entering the speedway from that driver's hometown being honored will be admitted FREE to the grandstands by showing proper photo identification and filling out an information card at the ticket booth.

On Saturday night, racing action begins at 7:00 p.m. Pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 6:40 p.m. followed by qualifying heat races, consolation races and feature events.

General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night are Adults (ages 18-59) $12.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $10.00; Children (10 & under) are free.

Pit pass prices are $25.00 with a reduced price of $20.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14.

The popular "Repeat Fan Discount" program will continue at SSP in 2011 for the eighth straight season. This is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week's events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during and at the end of the season for great prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.

The SSP Outback Track will be back in action on Friday night, May 27. Racing on the 1/9 mile track includes Quarter Midgets, Karts, Adult Speedcars and lawnmowers. Gates open at 5:45 p.m. with racing action beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Last Saturday night, Dover’s Larry Baer defeated a hard charging Coleby Frye at the end to win the 25-lap Late Model feature at the Susquehanna Speedway Park. Dan Zechman of Hanover claimed his third Street Stock feature event of the season. Dover’s Matt Wampler recorded his second Xtreme Stock Car main event of the season. Aaron Brommer of Auburn won the PENNMAR Vintage Car feature event.

The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located midway between Harrisburg and York off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south.
