Memorial Day Holiday Weekend at I-96 Speedway to feature Three Events in Three Days

Lake Odessa, Michigan (May 26) - I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan is gearing up for a very ambitious Memorial Day Holiday Weekend featuring three events in three days beginning on Saturday, May 28th and continuing on Sunday, May 29th before wrapping up on Memorial Day Monday, May 30th highlighted by the return of the World of Outlaws Sprints Series in the rescheduled “Rumble In Michigan”

The Holiday Weekend begins THIS Saturday, May 28th the Tinney Automotive UMP Late Models headline the weekend as the premier division within the United Midwestern Promoters (UMP) DIRTcar Series returns to action to highlight day one. The Lane Automotive UMP Modifieds are also on the card while the Renegade Racing Fuels & Lubricants UMP Street Stocks, and Jim’s Auto Body of Portland UMP Sport Compacts also return as all four divisions will challenge the fast 3/8s (0.375) mile high-banked dirt oval.

For Saturday, May 28th, the Pit Gates Open will open at 3:00p.m., the Grandstands swing open at 5:00p.m. Practice will start at 6:00p.m. Then after Pre-Race Ceremonies / Invocation / National Anthem(s), Racing Starts at 7:00p.m. Ticket Prices are: Adults (13-61): $12.00, Seniors (62 and Over): $8.00, Children (6-12): $5.00, Kids (5 and Under): FREE. Family Pass (A Family Pass will get 2 Adults and 2 Children into the races. Once inside the Kid’s Club is Free for the Kids!): $30.00. Finally, Pit Passes: $25.00.

Then on Sunday, May 29th, a very special Fan Appreciation Night has been added to the 2011 schedule! Ticket Prices are just $5.00 to get into the Grandstands! In addition, any patrons holding on to their tickets from the postponed World of Outlaws Sprints show from the May 21st rain out, will get into the grandstands for FREE! Pit Passes are just $15.00.

The Lane Automotive UMP Modifieds, Renegade Racing Fuels & Lubricants UMP Street Stocks, and Jim’s Auto Body of Portland UMP Sport Compacts will be racing under a special “Bracket Style” format. The Pay Scale and Race Procedures for this event will be different from a normal weekly show. Buy-In Bracket Races: Special Invitational Races for the three (3) UMP divisions will be conducted throughout the evening. There will also be a special Invitational for Pro 4s / Modified Mini Stock teams. Open to ANY and ALL Four-Cylinder cars and trucks, front and rear wheel drive. “Run What You Brung” (As long as it's a Four-Cylinder) and hope you brought enough! There will also be Spectator Drags as well.

For Sunday, May 29th, the Pit Gates Open will open at 2:00p.m. The Grandstands swing open at 4:00p.m. Practice will start at 5:00p.m. Then after Pre-Race Ceremonies / Invocation / National Anthem(s), Racing Starts at 6:00p.m. After the races on Sunday night, Co-Owners/Promoters, Mike and Sarah Mouch will be hosting an I-96 Speedway Memorial Day Holiday Party featuring live music in the pavilion lasting throughout the evening.

Finally to complete the holiday weekend, the big ½ (0.500) mile high-banked dirt oval comes to life with the ultra fast, fire breathing, winged warriors of the World of Outlaws Sprints Series returns to Lake Odessa, Michigan and will be joined by the Lane Automotive UMP Modifieds on the big ½ mile. The “Greatest Show On Dirt” will return to race in the “Rumble In Michigan” that was postponed from the May 21st rain out.
