JASON WELSHAN RACES TO BOYD's VICTORY WITH HEAVY-HEART... FAMILY LOSS

CHATTANOOGA, TN (June 10) - Jason Welshan (# 29) of Maryville, Tennessee and the FLYIN' WELSHAN BRIGADE flags a flying a half-mast today, as the family, friends and fans mourn the loss of Jason's Uncle Gary "Red" Cable, whom passed away early Friday. As recently as last month the team dedicated a win to "Red" whom for years helped out on a regulary basis get the team to the track. "We honestly didn't figure on coming tonight" Welshan stated after the victory. "...but Red wouldn't have wanted us to fall back in the points deal, so at the last minute we loaded up a came on down here." Along side 2010 hot-shoe Jeff Smith (of Villanow, GA), the FRONT ROW JOE's took to the track for the $800 to-WIN, 20 lapper. The # 29 "ALOT LESS Factory Outlet, Jon's Golfcarts, Advantage Check Cashing, Ronald Sexton Construction Co, Smith's Auto Sales and Centerline Construction, B&M Concrete - Miles 411 Family Restaurant, Stealth Carburators - Shorty's Shock Service, Bearden Oil" sponsored WEEKS chassised / 604 GM Performance Crate racer led from start to finish for Boyd's victory #7 of 2011. The Team-Kile GREEN-MACHINE will likely take Saturday night off, but looks forward to returning to Crossville (TN) Raceway in the coming weeks. Welshan also mentioned thanking all the fans whom stopped by the RACIN W/ REX Souvenir Trailer and bought their new racing t-shirts.
For the second consecutive Friday night, former Southern All-Star series champion, Jamie Perry of Ringgold, Georgia nailed down the Late Model competition, at Boyd's Speedway on the Tennessee/Georgia boarder. The RINGGOLD KID put up another dominating performance this week, out-wheeling fellow Ringgold native, THE AXE Kevin Gibson, who'se made a recent return to the racing scene. The #P4 "Stealth Racing Carburator, Heatherly Bros Roofing & Construction, Hamilton Outdoor Sports Shop, Anderson Bros., Ringgold Service Center, Outlaw Graphics" sponsored GRT / Chuck Smith (Racetek) racecar worked by Gibson enroute to his 4th overall win of the 2011 season. Perry is locked into a tight points battle for the 2011 Steel-Head Late Model Boyd's Track Championship with Lamar Scoggins, whom finished outside the Top-5. Behind Perry & Gibson were; Rick Hixson, Lil' John Owenby and Todd Morrow respectfully.
