Smith, Nichols, and Webber take first wins of the Season

(Peebles, Ohio) What looked like a night that would be hit with rain showers at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex, turned out to be a sunny warm day of great racing. The racing was as good as always with 2 of the 4 feature events had a photo finish.

Rex Smith Jr lead the Crazy Compact field to the green with Kyle Purdy on his outside. Kyle Purdy pulled out to the early lead as the battle between Brent Smith and Rex Smith Jr continued. Back and forth went the two Smith's but finally Brent was able to get second. Brent set sail on Kyle Purdy and was closing in slowly. The white flag came out and Smith had a small amount of time to win. Brent threw it in the first turn and slammed into Kyle Purdy and the raced down the back stretch. Smith slid into turn 3 and hit Purdy again. They were wheel to wheel but Purdy was able to edge Smith at the line for the win. Brent Smith came home second followed by Rex Smith Jr, Rusty Hawes, and Michael Skeens.

Dave McWilliams and Shaun Scott brought the UMP Modified field to the start. Dustin Webber jumped out to the early lead with the rest of the pack following. Webber pulled away but Dave Jamison was battling hard with Dave McWilliams for Second. Jamison and McWilliams would go at it all the way to the finish. Dustin Webber was able to pull out for his first win of the season followed by Dave McWilliams, Dave Jamison, Matt Hamilton, and Shaun Scott.

Jeff Alsip and Chad Smith inhabited the front row at the Start of the Late Model feature. Rick Combs jumped out to the front leaving the rest of the field. Combs lead for most of the race until he had to deal with lap traffic. Chad Smith closed in as Combs continued to tangle with the lap cars. Smith passed Combs and would continue on to win followed by Rick Combs, Jeff Alsip, Mike Myers, and Brian Gray.

The final race of the night was brought to the green by John Gutman and Steven Partin. The Legend car took off and Matt Nichols followed by Tom Partin moved to the front. T. Partin and Nichols battled back and forth for several laps. Nichols was barley able to get by Partin to win. The two were followed by John Gutman, DJ Duderstadt, and Steven Partin.
