Dart Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models geared up for Independence Day Weekend Swing

The 2011 Dart Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models continues their journey over Independence Day weekend with three races in three nights at AMSOIL Dirt Track Series venues in western Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota.

On Friday, July 1, drivers from all over WISSOTA travel to Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, WI for a $3,000-to-win, $300-to-start, 40-lap feature event brought to you by Joe Signs and Joe Provo Racewear of Chanhassen, MN. Joining the "big iron" on Friday include WISSOTA Street Stocks, USRA Modifieds and B-Mods, and 600 Mods. Racing starts at 7 pm sharp with draw cutoff at 6:30.

Admission to rumble by the river is $18 for adults, $16 for seniors, $9 for students and children 12 and under $5. A family pack is also available for $40 that includes 2 adults and up to three children.

Fans and drivers should also take note that Mississippi Thunder Speedway is hosting the $1,500-to-win WISSOTA Street Stock Nationals on Thursday, June 30. Accompanying the Streets is a $1,000-to-win and $100-to-start WISSOTA Late Models feature. For more information about the doubleheader weekend visit the track website at www.mississippithunder.com.

Tom Kadlec Honda of Rochester, MN presents the Dart Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models on Saturday, July 2 at Deer Creek Speedway near Spring Valley, MN. Another $3,000-to-win, $300-to-start main event awaits 25 competitors. Other classes participating in the annual Firecracker event include WISSOTA Super Stocks, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, WISSOTA Street Stocks, USAR Modifieds and B-Mods. The first green flag drops at 6 pm with draw cutoff at 5:30.

The weekend concludes at Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls, WI on Sunday, July 3. A $2,000 payday awaits the winner of the 40-lap feature sponsored by Miller Lite and Coca-Cola.

WISSOTA Super Stocks, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, WISSOTA Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and EVS Hornets are also on the card. Racing starts once again at 6 pm with draw cutoff at 5:30.

Jake Redetzke of Eau Claire, WI currently leads the 2011 point standings. Redetzke has four top ten finishes including two second place finishes at Casino Speedway on June 4 and Dacotah Speedway on June 10 aiding in his surge to the top. Marshall Fegers of Mound, MN sits second only 4 points behind Redetzke. Fegers captured a series win at Casino Speedway on June 4 and has secured three other top ten finishes. Rounding out the top five in series point standings include Eric Breeschoten of Buffalo, MN, Challenge Cup XI winner Adam Hensel of Barron, WI and two-time series champion Lance Matthees of Winona, MN.

Sixth through tenth in the point standings includes Cumberland, WI driver Steve Laursen; Chad Becker of Aberdeen, SD; defending series champion John Kaanta of Elk Mound, WI; Joel Cryderman of Thunder Bay, ON and Justin Fegers of Minnetonka, MN.
