Robinson wins 23rd Annual Woodtic 100 at Merritt Speedway

MERRITT, Mich. (July 16) - The scorekeepers had their hands full during the The 23rd running of Ed VanDuinen’s Woodtic 100 at Merritt Speedway. The Late Model 40 lap feature event with a 22 car field went green to checker without a single caution flag. Pole sitter, Justin Robinson of Shepherd jumped into the lead with Don Erickson of Traverse City close behind. The remaining 20 cars battled side by side for position and the chance to take a shot at Erickson and Robinson. Positions swapped back and forth as the laps clicked off while Robinson and Erickson picked their way trough lapped traffic. At the checkered flag it would be Justin Robinson scoring the Woodtic Championship over Don Erickson, Justin McNeill was third from tenth, Bob Hammar, Josh Knoll, Eric Spangler finishing 6th was the biggest mover after suffering at flat tire while leading in the preliminary race and started 22nd on the field using his Woodtic Warm Up feature win as a provisional. Rounding out the top ten were David Hilliker, Dona Marcoullier, Donnie Marcoullier and Adam Erickson.
