Details announced for the All-Star Classic at Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Iowa (August 17, 2011) – The historic half-mile oval at the Davenport Speedway will come alive again on Friday, September 9th, with the running of the All-Star Classic. Highlighting the racing program at the All-Star Classic will be the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models.

The Deery Brothers race at Davenport is the third of five scheduled races in September that will determine the 2011 series champion. The defending Deery Brothers Summer Series champion is Ray Guss Jr. of Milan, Illinois.

The Deery Brothers race at Davenport was originally scheduled for April 15th, but was rained out.

IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and 4 Stocks will also be racing at the All-Star Classic. IMCA Modifieds will be racing for $800-to-win, with Street Stocks paying $500-to-win, and 4-Stocks $250-to-win.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street, in Davenport. Pit gates at The Davenport Speedway open at 4:00 p.m., with the grandstand opening at 5:30. Hot laps are at 6:30pm and racing starts at 7pm.
