Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Wraps Up 2011 Season this Weekend at Dirt Track Championship at K-C Raceway

WAYCROSS, GA (October 11) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will wrap-up it's 2011 racing season in a big way this weekend with the 31st Annual U. S. Steel Dirt Track World Championship presented by Sunoco at K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, OH.

Not only does the event pay $50,000 to win, but it will also decide the 2011 LOLMDS Championship between Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN and 2-time series champion, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN. Owens will head into the event with a 50-point advantage over Bloomquist. The series championship is worth $75,000 to win.

The U. S. Steel Dirt Track World Championship presented by Sunoco will officially start on Thursday October 13th with a special open wheel modified show. The modified division will qualify, run heat races and their B-mains on Thursday to set the field for the $3,000 to win open wheel modified feature event on Saturday October 15th.

Activities will get underway on Friday, October 14th for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with Time Trials. Also on Friday's schedule will be Heat Races for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned event.

On Saturday, October 15th starting at 7 PM will be the B-Mains followed by the 100-lap U. S. Steel Dirt Track World Championship Presented by Sunoco paying $50,000 to win and $2,000 to start. Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL is the defending race winner. Also on Saturday there will be a special Jim Dunn Non-Qualifiers race paying $3,000 to win with an option for the winner to tag the rear of the field for the 100-lap feature event.

Not only will there plenty of excitement surrounding this huge crown jewel event, but we have a tremendous points battle coming into the final race that will surely have everyone watching up until the checkered flag waves. We want to thank U. S. Steel and Sunoco for stepping up and being a part of this mega event", stated Ritchie Lewis, series director.
