SPEEDWAY SPOTLIGHT – EAST ALABAMA MOTOR SPEEDWAY RETURNS TO NeSMITH CHEVROLET WRS

CARTERSVILLE, GA – East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL returns to the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series after a year’s absence for the 2012 season. Drivers at East Alabama Motor Speedway will once again be eligible for a National point fund that will pay $10,000 to the Champion and pay back ten spots.

History has shown that East Alabama Motor Speedway drivers have always been front runners in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series and NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring competition.

Two NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region Champions have come from East Alabama Motor Speedway with Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL in 2009 and Chase Edge of Lafayette, AL in 2010. Three of the last four VP Racing Fuels Rookies of the Year have come from EAMS with Knowles taking the honors in 2008, Larry Harrod of Plains, GA winning it in 2010, and Edge taking the award in 2011.

Drivers at East Alabama Motor Speedway will compete against drivers at other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series tracks through the country each weekend during a 27-week season from March 26, 2012 through September 30, 2012 through a points system. A competitor’s best 14 weekly point totals will count towards their National point total.

Drivers can compete in multiple races each week with their highest single event point total counting for that week. A driver can also earn up to 100 Weekly Racing Series Bonus Points that will be added to their best 14 week point total. A driver can earn as much as 800 points that represents 14 50-point wins and 100 Weekly Racing Series Bonus Points.

Weekly Racing Series Bonus Points can be earned in two different ways. A driver can earn 25 Weekly Racing Series Bonus Points by competing in four straight events at a single track. A driver can also earn 25 Weekly Racing Series Bonus Points by competing in a NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring event during the Weekly Racing Series season.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical GM Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. These engines are in stock and ready for free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast from NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA.
