311 Speedway ULTIMATE Event Rescheduled for July 15th

Carnesville, Georgia – After discussions with several race teams and track owner Mike Fulp, officials of the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series and the 311 Speedway announced today that the event scheduled for this Saturday, April 28th has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 15th. “We work very hard on scheduling smartly. I have a master schedule that has about 12 different series and such on it to look at when we are scheduling a date. I do everything I can to avoid asking a racer to choose one event over another. We do our very best to stay away from dates that have other touring events in our region on them. In today’s economy we have to do our best to give our fans and race teams a schedule that gives them the most ‘bang for their buck’. I completely missed this weekend with Tazewell hosting World of Outlaws and then WoO coming to 311 6 days later. I wouldn’t ever want to force the race fans to have to choose which weekend they will go out to a facility and that’s what they were facing. That would obviously split the crowd with some staying home for one or the other and we want our tracks to have successful events. Our date was the most easily changed so when Mike called me we immediately found a new date for this event.” said Kelley Carlton ULTIMATE Series Director.

The event will now move to Sunday evening, July 15th following the ULTIMATE Series’ visit to the Volunteer Speedway on Saturday, July 14th. The series saw this as the best opportunity to bring the most drivers to the Madison, North Carolina facility while helping the race teams as well. “Again, the idea is to look at everything going on and try to schedule to provide racers the best travel plans to save them fuel while giving them the best chances to make money. This date wedges the 311 event between one of our Volunteer Speedway dates and the Monday night beginning of the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals at Wythe Raceway. There is nothing at all going on in the area and all 3 tracks are regionally close to each other. This will limit the amount of travel the racers have to do while offering them 3 separate chances to race for good money. In turn, it should also theoretically help the car counts for 2 of our family tracks – Volunteer and Wythe. So we felt like it was the best date available for the rescheduled event.” Carlton added.

Now, the ULTIMATE Super Late Model teams will turn their focus to the Saturday May 5th $5000 to win visit to the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.
