Kari Gasser wins career first Super Late Model feature at PPMS

PITTSBURGH, PA (June 2) - Kari Gasser, Vienna, OH picked up her career first Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Model win, and made history becoming the first female driver to do so at Pittsburgh. Tommy Beck made his first start of the season and grabbed the lead at the start followed by third starting Gasser and Lynn Geisler. Meanwhile, Michael Norris, Alex Ferree and Steve Baker made moves thru the field. Beck and Gasser battled for the lead along with Geisler, with Jim Stephans and John Garvin in fourth and fifth. Norris made his way to fourth, and began to pressure Geisler. Beck and Gasser continued to battle for first, Gasser would pull even, but Beck would hold her off. The battle between Geisler and Norris got heated, with the pair bumping on the back straight, and Norris getting a flat bringing out the yellow. Norris changed the tire and returned to the action. On the restart Jim Stephans and Brandon Burgoon tangled, causing another restart. On the restart, Gasser went to the outside and got by Beck to take the lead. Alex Ferree, who started 18th, also got by Beck and set out after Gasser. On lap 21 Mike Johnson slowed to bring out the caution giving the Ferree and the field one more shot at Gasser.
