Coca-Cola Stars and Stripes 40 at Cleveland Speedway next for Southern All Stars on July 14

HUNTSVILLE, AL (July 10) - After a few weeks off from the series’ last event at Talladega Short Track, the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series travelers will head back to the Ronnie Willkomm owned Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland TN on Saturday Night July 14th.

This will be the third of five scheduled appearances for the Southern All Stars to the 58-year-old Cleveland Speedway facility. The previous winners for Southern All Stars at Cleveland Speedway this season included Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN on April 7th and Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN on May 12th.

The SAS Late Models will be competing for a $3,500 to win / $300 to start main event with a complete show of Practice, Qualifying, Last Chance Races and the 40-lap main event. Also competing will be the Limited Late Models/Steel Head Crates racing for a 30-lap $1,200 to win main event and also A-Hobby, B-Hobby, Pony’s and Cruisers. Southern All Stars Rules and Procedures will be in affect at all times while transponders and RaceCeivers are mandatory for competition. The SAS entry fee is $100.00.

The pit gates will swing open at 4:00 pm on July 14th with Grandstand Gates opening at 5:00 pm while the Driver’s Meeting is slated for 7:30 pm and Hot Laps scheduled shortly after at around 7:00 pm. Adult General Admission will be $15.00 with Children ages 6 through 11 admitted for $3.00 while Children under six will be admitted for free. Adult Pit Passes will be $30.00 with Children ages 6 through 11 admitted for $10.00 while Children under six will be admitted for free. A HUGE Fireworks show will light up the sky during intermission.

Turn left (back under the overpass) on Hwy. 11, and go two blocks (past the car lots & Mr. Zip,) the Speedway is on the left.

Coca-Cola Stars and Stripes 40 at Cleveland Speedway Postponed

HUNTSVILLE, AL —After a weeks worth of rain fell over the southeast Cleveland Speedway has had to postpone the running of the Stars & Stripes 40 until a later date due to the heavy rains that have fell and flooded the pit area as well as part of the race track itself.

“We hate to do this but we had no choice” said track owner Ronnie Wilkomm. “We have had so much water on the track that we could not get any of the equipment on the track to do any work and we did not want to give the fans and drivers a bad race track, so we have decided to postpone the race to later date on the Southern All Stars schedule.”

The next event for the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series will be on Saturday night July 28th at the Talladega Short Track with the Michael Head Jr Memorial that will be a 40 lap event paying $3,500 to win.
