Ray Cook Eyes Tripleheader in West Virginia this Holiday Weekend

BRASSTOWN, NC (August 30) - The "Tarheel Tiger" Ray Cook and the #53 D&R Motorsports team traveled to the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee on Thursday night, August 23 for the annual running of the 'Scorcher 50.'  The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdown boasted a $10,000 winner's check.  Ray unfortunately dropped a driveshaft in his heat race and later finished sixth in his B-Main.  After taking use of a series provisional to gain access into the 50-lap feature event, Ray moved past twelve competitors during the caution-free race en route to a steady eleventh place performance.  Complete results from "The Gap" can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for the #53 team will be a huge tripleheader in the Mountaineer State of West Virginia from August 31-September 2.  The Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia will take center stage on Friday and Saturday by playing host to the 3rd Annual ‘Black Diamond 125.’  The unique $150,000-plus event includes a pair of 40-lap preliminary features on Saturday paying $10,000 to win each and the 45-lap 'Sweet Sixteen' finale – for the top eight finishers in each prelim – that offers a $20,000 top prize.  Sunday’s weekend finale will take place at the I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will preside over the $25,000 to win ‘Hillbilly 100.’  Additional information can be obtained by clicking on www.worldofoutlaws.com and www.lucasdirt.com.
