Title: Jason Bodenhamer Returning to Duty Post by LMR on 01/23/13 at 12:38pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 23, 2013 ________________________________________ Jason Bodenhamer Returning to Duty MLRA Media WHEATLAND, MO (January 23) - It's been three seasons since Centerview, Missouri's Jason Bodenhamer last competed full time on the Lucas Oil MLRA Tour. His last visit to victory lane came back in 2009 at Nevada Speedway. A winner of seven career features with the tour and a series best finish of second in points in 2004, Bodenhamer is undoubtedly excited to hit the road again. "I traveled with the Lucas Oil MLRA for eight or nine seasons, and then after my dad passed away, I went after it hard again for a few more years," commented Bodenhamer. "I love the competition in the series and all of the tracks we get to race. There's just so many unknown's that always make it challenging. When you run well, you've definitely earned it." Bodenhamer will also be feeling out a new chassis brand as well. He'll be piloting a Rocket for the first time in his career, after previously racing primarily GRT Race Cars. He purchased one of Kelly Boen's two primary cars he raced in his final season. "Kelly and I have always been good friends," said Bodee. "He's always been open and honest with me. It came down to the fact that I just wanted to try something different, and I have a great resource in Kelly." Boen retired following the completion of the 2011 season, but still wants to be involved in a smaller capacity. His power will come from an all-aluminum Pro Power engine, but he knows he'll need more than one to last the entire season. "I'm discussing some different options right now, and I'm not quite sure what I'll do just yet. I do have to have a bigger one though for some of the tracks we'll be at." The last three years Bodee has raced closer to home, with several different car owners, in both the Modified and Late Model divisions. He's won his fair share, but missed racing with the guys he was so accustomed to running with. "What really got me fired up to do this again was the Lucas Oil MLRA show last year at Grain Valley," Bodee stated. "I took my ULMA legal car and ran fifth. We beat a lot of good cars that night. I've got the help of a lot of family and friends, and want to get out and race hard once more before I get too old to do it." He was also quick to give credit to Lucas Oil Products and Series Director Dan Robinson. "Dan has put out a good schedule, and the new "Winner's Circle" program will really be able to help us all get up and down the road easier. Lucas Oil has definitely boosted the level of the series already." Once again, Bodee's Race Bodies will also be a contingency partner for the 2013 Lucas Oil MLRA season. He'll offer up a pair of free sides to the 2013 champion. For the Rookie of the Year, he'll provide one complete outer body kit. Also every driver in the final top ten will receive the option to buy one body side and receive one side free. With the start of the season still a few months out, Bodee is preparing for his 15th Annual Racers Auction and Trade Show at The Matthewson Exhibition Center, on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, in Sedalia this weekend. The Lucas Oil MLRA will be on hand with information about upcoming races, and encourages both fans and racers to stop by the booth. The doors open at 8:00AM and the auction starts at 9:00 AM both days. For more information visit BodeesRacersAuction.com. |
