Brodix gives IMCA Late Model, Deery Series rookie awards

MENA, Ark. (April 3) – Brodix makes rookie of the year campaigns pay off for two IMCA Late Model drivers this season.

Both the national rookie of the year and the top first-year competitor in the Deery Brothers Summer Series receive a set of cylinder heads from the Mena, Ark., manufacturer.

Brodix manufactures the official cylinder heads for the Late Model division and begins its 17th season as an IMCA partner.

Rookie drivers competing for national points or the Deery Series are required to display two Brodix decals on their race cars to be eligible. They also have an Aug. 1 deadline to return an application form.

The 2013 point season for Late Models begins on Friday, April 26 and continues through Sunday, Aug. 25. There are 18 events scheduled for the Deery Series, which opens April 5 at Dubuque Speedway.

Both awards will be presented during the national IMCA banquet in November. 2012 rookies of the year were Chuck Hanna for the national Late Models and Denny Eckrich for the Deery Series.

Information about Brodix-made cylinder heads and intake manifolds is available at the www.brodix.com website or by calling 479 394-1075.

"The cylinder head and intake partnership with Brodix remains the cornerstone of our Late Model program and something our racers have come to depend upon,” observed IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “An infusion of new talent is important for the longevity of the division and the free Brodix heads remain a great way to recognize their accomplishments."

Ideal Ready Mix, WWJ Motorsports renew Deery Series awards

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (April 2) – Ideal Ready Mix and WWJ Motorsports have renewed a unique awards program for drivers following the Deery Brothers Summer Series.

Hard chargers at each of the 18 events in the IMCA Late Model tour receive $100 product certificates, good toward the purchase of race parts from WWJ Motorsports.

Ideal Ready Mix Ironman Challenge cash bonuses of $99 go to drivers with perfect attendance through the first 13 events who qualify for each of the final five features, the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals at Boone Speedway on Sept. 2, the Yankee Dirt Track Classic at Farley Speedway Sept. 13 and 14, at Independence Motor Speedway Sept. 20 and the Sept. 21 finale at Davenport Speedway.

The $99 dollar amount is in recognition of the car number of the late Johnny Johnson, who had owned the West Burlington-based concrete supplier as well as 34 Raceway.

Drivers receiving bonuses in 2012, the first season the premiums were paid, included champion Jeff Aikey, Ray Guss Jr., Andy Eckrich, Darrel DeFrance, Justin Kay, Joel Callahan, Jay Johnson and Mike Murphy Jr.

All eight received the maximum bonus of $495.

"This bonus is an excellent incentive to commit to the entire Deery Brothers Summer Series schedule again this year,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “I hope we can pay out even more bonus money in 2013 and continue to honor the legacy Johnny and his family established through their support of the IMCA Late Model program."
