Friday, June 7th, 2013, Manitowoc WI. - Finally catching a break from the wet weather plaguing the area the last few days, drivers, crews, fans and families settled in for another night of racing with EWSC. Several newcomers made the night a bit interesting for all.

Late Models
TJ Dolhoun (Menominee Falls) in the 01 and 27 Justin Hirt (Tigerton) brought the thundering herd down to the green flag in the final feature event of the evening. A quick caution for a spin bu 97 Justin Schmidt (Cleveland) slowed the field immediately, with Hirt holding the lead. On the restart, an uneven pace set by the front of the field caused another caution as a passel of cars made contact mid pack, leaving 4 cars spun out on the infield. A warning to the drivers to hold their positions until the green resulted in a flawless start on the second try, with Hirt leaping to the high side and taking off with the 74 Russ Scheffler hot on his spoiler. Scheffler grabbed the Lap 2 lead, but a strong high side run by Hirt put him back in the lead, and he immediately began to stretch the advantage. Last weeks feature winner, 7B Tim Buhler, 8D Dan Dippel (Plymouth) & 98 Tom Naeyaert (Shawano) were locked in a tight battle mid pack as Hirt, along with Russ and 15S Rick Scheffler began lapping cars at the front. Midway through it was Hirt, Russ, Rick, 79 Jim Schmidt (Cleveland), and Dolhoun at the front with Buhler just outside the top 5. With 5 laps remaining, Hirt had stretched the lead to more than a straightaway, putting multiple lapped cars between him and the rest of the field, using all of the track to make moves on lapped traffic as he lapped half the field on the way to his first win of the year. Russ Scheffler, Rick Scheffler, Buhler, Jim Schmidt, & Dolhoun rounded out the top 6. Buhler claimed top mover honors picking up 7 spots while Naeyaert picked up 6.

Feature: 1;Justin Hirt (2), 2;Russ Scheffler (3), 3;Rick Scheffler (5), 4;Tm Buhler (11), 5;Jim Schmidt (4), 6;T.J. Dohlan (1), 7;Tom Naeyaert (13), 8;Dan Dipple (6), 9;Justin Schmidt (9), 10;Jim Letizia (15), 11;Ron Stroika (10), 12;Turk Letizia (8), 13;Eric Michaels (12), 14;Jason Enoch (14), 15;Scott Hugsted (16), 16;Aaron Holiday (7). Justin Hirt dominated the feature winning by a straight a way to make it 7 different feature winners for the first 7 WDLMA events in 2013.
