Independence Deery rained out, series ends Saturday at Davenport

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (Sept. 20) – Tonight’s Deery Brothers Summer Series event at Independence Motor Speedway has been canceled.

Three inches of rain had fallen in the last two days in the Independence area.

What is now the 16th and final event of the 2013 IMCA Late Model tour will be held on the half-mile dirt oval at Davenport Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Hometown driver Brian Harris brings a 26 point lead over Wheatland’s Justin Kay into the $3,000 to win, minimum $300 to start finale, during Davenport’s All-Star Classic.

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.

Spectator admission is $17 for adults, $16 for seniors and students and free for kids 10 and under when accompanying a paying adult.
