Title: ULMS at America's Motorsports Park - 9/28 Results Post by LMR on 09/30/13 at 12:22am America's Motorsports Park September 28, 2013 _______________________________________ Mike Blose Claims First ULMS Win in Stephanie Eckl Memorial at America's Motorsports Park NDRL Media Clearfield, PA (September 28) - Mike Blose of New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania captured his first career ULMS victory as well as a cool $3,000 after dominating the 9th Annual Stephanie Eckl Memorial held at America's Motorsports Park in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 28. As the field lined up for the first ULMS visit at America's Motorsports Park, ULMS officials passed on the traditional four-wide salute to the fans in favor of a 'Missing Man' tribute to the event's namesake, Stephanie Eckl. After the emotional opening to the event it was Blose and ULMS regular Boom Briggs who led the field to the green for the 30-lap main event. Blose jumped out to an early lead while third starting Jason Dupont slid under Briggs for the second spot. Briggs wouldn't go quietly and battled with Dupont for that second position until a lap three caution slowed the pack for the first time. When racing resumed Blose again powered to a large lead while Dupont and Briggs battled for the second spot while Shawn Claar and ULMS point leader Mike Knight ran fourth and fifth respectively. Another caution fell on lap five for debris and during the ensuing restart, Duane Stiner, who was running mid-pack bounced off the front stretch wall sending him into a spin into an onslaught of oncoming traffic. After the red flag was displayed and when all was said and done a total of six cars were involved including ULMS competitor Greg Oakes who was forced to retire after heavy damage. The field was restacked with Blose still maintaining a stranglehold on the lead as Briggs continued to hound Dupont for the second spot while 12th starting Rob Blair knocked on the door of the top-five before another caution flew on lap seven. When racing resumed again Blose continued to dominate as Blair worked his way by Gabe Shaffer for fifth while Luke Hoffner also made his way around Shaffer for sixth. After a lap 20 caution Blair then began to work on Mike Knight for fourth as the field restarted after another caution on lap 27, Blair made his way around Knight for fourth and set his sights on the Dupont and Briggs battle for second. Blair had something figured out and got by Briggs for third and just a lap later worked his way around Dupont for second. Unfortunately for Blair it was too little too late as Blose was well ahead and went on to win his first career ULMS feature event and his first 'Stephanie Eckl Memorial'. Blair finished second followed by Dupont, Briggs, and Knight who rounded out the top five. Luke Hoffner held on for sixth followed by Shaffer in seventh, Dwayne Taneyhill in eighth, 16th starting Waylon Wagner in ninth and 20th starting Scott Alvetro rounding out the top-ten.
