Title: Dennis Erb, Jr. Tenth in Lucas Oil Series Points Following Triple Post by LMR on 05/08/14 at 4:43pm FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 8, 2014 _______________________________________ Dennis Erb, Jr. Tenth in Lucas Oil Series Points Following Tripleheader Weekend CARPENTERSVILLE, IL (May 8) - Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team competed in a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts in the states of Illinois and Kentucky from May 1-3. Things kicked off on Thursday at the mighty Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois, as the 'St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100' boasted a hefty $12,000 payday. Dennis timed in sixth quickest in Group A during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his heat race. After starting eleventh on the grid in the 100-lap main event, Dennis ran into trouble early at the tiny 1/5-mile oval, but battled back to salvage a solid tenth place effort. On Friday night, the action quickly shifted to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois for a $10,000 to win program. Dennis ran seventh in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and twelfth in the 50-lap feature event at the St. Louis-area facility. The tripleheader weekend then concluded for the Dennis Erb Racing team on Saturday evening with a stop at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky. The Carpentersville, Illinois native finished fifth in his heat race, won his B-Main, but was unfortunately involved in a lap 19 caution (packed radiator full of mud) and was relegated to a nineteenth place performance in the $10,000 to win affair. Dennis now sits tenth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the action-packed weekend. Full results can be viewed at www.lucasdirt.com. With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sitting idle over Mother's Day weekend, Dennis will take the opportunity to enter a pair of special events in the Land of Lincoln. On Friday, May 9, the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois will be the track of choice, as the 'Douglas Dodge Extravaganza' will take place at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds bullring. A $5,000 top prize will be on the line tomorrow evening in the UMP DIRTcar Series-sanctioned show. The doubleheader weekend will then conclude for the #28 team on Saturday, May 10 with a visit to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois for a $2,000 to win American Late Model Series (ALMS) battle.
