Having just turned 12-years-old, Cruz Skinner because the youngest driver to win a NeSmith Chevrolet WRS Late Model main event. Jason Cliburn of Star, MS won two races in one night, and the point leader Adam Gauldin hit the road to earn more points. Skinner of Oxford, AL became the youngest driver to win a NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model feature on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Skinner Body Shop Special. The victory keeps the seventh grader in the top five of the series point standings. Cliburn of Star, MS won the Week 10 Make Up race and the Week 11 night cap on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Cliburn Tank Lines GRT. In three NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model starts this season, Cliburn has won them all. Gauldin of Talladega, AL loaded up his Adam Gauldin Racing GRT and took his NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point lead on the road on Saturday night. He drove right past his home track, Talladega Short Track, and headed to Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS for Double Features. Gauldin finished eighth in the Week 10 race and fifth in the Week 11 race. After 11 weeks of competition, Gauldin now has 522 points after two wins, nine top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 12 races. Gauldin has a 48 point lead over Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS, but Bridgmon has raced one less week than Gauldin. Once Gauldin hits the 15-week mark of his season, Bridgmon will still have a week to earn full points. Bridgmon also had a successful Week 11 of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition after driving the Robinson Electric Special to his third win of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Bridgmon is tied for second in the standings with Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS with 474 points apiece, but Sanchagrin has one more week than Bridgmon. Bridgmon has three wins, nine top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 11 races over 10 weeks of racing. Sanchagrin has two top five finishes and six top ten finishes in 12 races over 11 weeks of competition. Sanchagrin drove the Permanent Exterior Solutions Trak-Star to a fourth-place finish on Saturday night in the Week 11 race at Jackson Motor Speedway. Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS drove the Billy Riels Racing GRT to his third win of the season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA. The win was a 40-point victory against a field of less than eight cars. Lee earned more Week 11 points on Friday night with a 48-point third-place finish at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS. Lee is fourth in the standings with 450 points after three wins and 11 top five finishes in 14 races over ten weeks of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition. Skinner’s win puts him fifth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 443 points after one win, four top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in 12 races over ten weeks. Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 410 points after one win, four top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in ten races over nine weeks. Combs drove the Pro-Grafx Special to a tenth-place finish on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track. Chris Holley of Dayton, TX returned to his winning ways on Saturday night at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX driving the Land Bridge Transportation Special to his seventh victory in eight races. The race Holley didn’t win, he finished second to the defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS. The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models will be off this Saturday night at Battleground Speedway, and Holley has indicated he will travel to St. Tammany Raceway to take on Daspit at the Champion’s home track. Holley is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 399 points, one point away from a perfect score of 400 points after eight weeks of racing. Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS moved up to eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings after earning Week 10 points at Jackson Motor Speedway on Saturday night, and had a 47-point fourth-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in The Strength Center Trak-Star. Arnold has 398 points after two wins, five top five finishes, and nine top ten finishes in 11 races over nine weeks. Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN did not compete in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 11 competition and dropped to ninth in the standings with 396 points. Cooper has one win, ten top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 11 races over nine weeks. Cliff Williams of Star, MS earned 41 Week 10 points on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway and finished fifth in the night cap driving the Cliff Williams Plumbing Trak-Star. That moved Williams up to the tenth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 389 points after seven top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in 12 races over nine weeks. In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 11 action, Darrick Klima of Belleville, KS drove the Mike's Body Shop Special to his second series win on Friday night at Salina Speedway in Salina, KS. Craig Turner of Flomaton, AL drove the Turner Racing Trak-Star to his second win of the season on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL in a race co-sanctioned by the South Eastern Crate Series. Ashley Newman of Ripley, TN drove the Greg’s Sawmill Special to his fifth NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series win of the season in the Week 10 race on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway. Neil Baggett of Shannon, MS picked up his third series win in the Week 11 race on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway driving the Montgomery Farms Special. There were two rainouts on the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 11 schedule of events. Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR was rained out on Friday night for the fourth week in-a-row, and Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL was rained out on Saturday night.
