Beckley Motor Speedway Ultimate Series Event Postponed Until August 8th

CARNESVILLE, Georgia (July 2) - The management of Beckley Motor Speedway and the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series announced today they will postpone the previously announced July 4th event until August 8th due to other area track schedule conflicts. “We wanted work with I-77 Raceway Park fans and teams on this date. We are more than willing to work with local tracks within our area to benefit all involved. It’s still tough enough to make money at tracks this day and time without scheduling races on top of each other.” stated Rick Strattis of Beckley. “This is our way of making things better for everyone. I spoke with Stan Lester of ULTIMATE and together we decided this is the best route for us to take. I-77 is having a late model special and also a sprint car race and they need to get everyone they can to make it work for them. Knowing both Dave and Kenny at I-77 I’m sure they will do the same for us when the time comes.  Proof that by working together we all do better.” Strattis added.

“It’s refreshing to see tracks work together.” said Stan Lester of the ULTIMATE Series. “We go to race tracks all over the country and it’s not often you see tracks really cooperate with each other. Rick might be a rookie promoter but this was a veteran move on his part. I have already spoken with Fred Brown of Wythe Raceway and he is excited too. This can only make things better for our race teams having a double header weekend and a real plus for traveling our fans as well. These two tracks don’t really share fans so to speak, but for the fans that do want to go to both, it’s only a couple of hours apart. The teams really benefit having a double header weekend and with the cost of travel this day and time that’s vital.” stated Lester.

The ULTIMATE Supers return to competition Saturday, June 28th at Dublin Motor Speedway in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. Then the series closes out a busy month of July with a pair of doubleheader weekends. Friday, July 11th the ULTIMATE stars head for Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee for the Firecracker 5000 and then the series finishes out the weekend at the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia on Saturday, July 12th. The series then returns to West Virginia for the final 2 events of July. Friday, July 18th the ULTIMATE Supers return to the I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia. The series completes the doubleheader the next day at a first time stop at the Princeton Raceway in Princeton, West Virginia on Saturday, July 19th.
