Saturday Rain Postpones Deer Creek Speedways NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 to Sunday
Tonights World of Outlaws Late Model Series Wild West Tour Event Reset for Tomorrow

SPRING VALLEY, MN - Heavy rain showers across southeast Minnesota have forced Deer Creek Speedway officials to postpone Saturday nights NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series until Sunday evening.

The program schedule for Sundays action has been shifted an hour ahead of the schedule originally planned for Saturday. Gates will open at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with hot laps beginning at 5:30 followed by Time Trials.

A large crowd of Late Model teams were on the Deer Creek grounds Saturday afternoon ready to compete in the second leg of the WoOLMS four-race Wild West Tour before the persistent showers led track and series officials to reset the entire program to Sunday. The event will also feature a full program for USRA Modifieds.

The stars of the WoO LMS kicked off their annual trek through the Upper Midwest on Thursday with the national tours first-ever visit to Hibbing (Minn.) Raceway. Leading a strong contingent of Upper Midwest-based teams that plan to follow the Wild West Tour, Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, Wis., topped WoO LMS regulars Tim McCreadie of Watertown, N.Y., and Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky., to claim Thursdays 50-lap A-Main.

Following Sundays event at Deer Creek, action moves to Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, S.D., on Tuesday (July 15) for the third-mile oval’s first WoO LMS event since 2008. The Wild West Tour wraps up with a visit to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., on Friday (July 18).
