Davenport Speedway hosts All-Star Classic this Saturday
Deery Brothers Summer Series highlights the half-mile racing action
DAVENPORT, Ia. (September 17) – The 2014 racing season the Davenport Speedway will come to an end this Saturday, September 20th, at the All-Star Classic. The event will be run on Davenport’s historic half-mile dirt oval.
Saturday’s Deery Brothers race will be a homecoming for Justin Kay of Wheatland, Iowa. Kay was recently crowned IMCA Late Model National Championship, his second in a row. He is also the two-time defending Davenport Speedway track champion in the IMCA Late Model division.
Justin currently leads the Deery Brothers point standings and has four Deery wins in twelve races this season. No other driver has more than two wins.
This is the fourth year for the All-Star Classic at the Davenport Speedway. Jeff Aikey of Cedar Falls, won back-to-back in 2012 & 2013. Ray Guss Jr. of Milan, Ill., won in 2011.
Also racing on the half-mile will be Modifieds, Street Stocks, SportMods, and 4-Stocks.
The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates open at 4:30pm, the grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00pm.
