Hesston Speedway Announces Dynamic 2015 Schedule

HESSTON, PA (January 4) - Full-throttle racing action will return to the high banks of Hesston Speedway in 2015 in high quality. JELT Enterprises, Inc. has released the thrilling 2015 schedule of events for the 3/8 mile supertrack.

Hesston Speedway will include 12 events in the upcoming season.   The dynamic schedule features exciting special events at every race date.   Super Late Models, Semi-Late Model Sportsman (limited/steel block/crate late model), A-Cadets (street/pro-stock), Hobby-Modifieds (pure/strictly stocks), Roadrunners (stock 4 cylinder fwd), 305 Sprints and E-mods will compete at Hesston on various dates during 2015. Hesston will focus on stronger payoffs for all classes throughout the season with multiple championship races for all core divisions.

Pre-season activities will include 2 "Track Test" open practice events on April 12 and 19. These sessions are open to any race car that wants to tune up for the upcoming season. It will also be an excellent opportunity to try out the reconfigured banking which should widen the racing grooves.

The grand re-opening of the supertrack will be the "2015 Blastoff" on Saturday, May 9. This night will be highlighted by championship features for all competing divisions, with extra payoff and bonus laps for each class. The Semi-Late Model Sportsman will race 30 laps for $800 to win while A-Cadets will go 25 laps for $500. The 20 lap Hobby-Modified championship will pay $300 to the winner and the 15 lap Roadrunner championship will pay $200 to win.

Two weeks later on Saturday, May 16, the mighty Super Late Models will make their first appearance of the year at Hesston for "the Hesston Trophy."  With nearby Port Royal Speedway taking a break that night, Hesston will showcase the division in a 30 lap feature for $1,500 to win.

The following weekend, on Sunday May 24, the newly re-launched UFo Super Late Models will make their first of 4 appearances at Hesston during 2015.   The UFo "DR Eriksen Grand Prix" will pay tribute to "The Dirt Doctor" who completely renovated Hesston and brought it to the forefront on the central Pennsylvania racing scene before his passing in March of 2014.   The UFo Super Late Models will race 56 laps symbolic to DR's year of birth, with $4,000 going to the winner.   Semi-Late Model Sportsman will race in a 30 lap championship with A-Cadets, Hobby-Modifieds and Roadrunners competing in bonus features with increased payoffs.

The UFo Super Late Models will return on Thursday July 2 for UFo "Revolution 2015. Their 3rd appearance will be for UFo "PA Speedmonster" on Saturday, July 25, another night when Port Royal is on break. This event will showcase the thrilling UFo twin feature format. The season will conclude with UFo "Superthunder Road" on Sunday September 6. All UFo events will include bonus championship races for all divisions on the program that night. The UFo Championship will feature 10 to 14 events at tracks in the region with a season-ending point fund to the top finishing drivers.

The Laurel Highlands RaceSaver 305 Sprints will invade Hesston 2 times during the season. The first date will be Saturday, June 6 for the "Blade Runner." "War of Wings" on Saturday, August 8 will be the second 305 Sprint race. Both dates are in coordination with off-dates for the associate PASS RaceSaver series for maximum car counts.

Every class will have a headline championship event in 2015. The Hobby-Modifieds and Roadrunners will take center stage in "Rush Hour at Motor Mountain" with 24 lap and 18 lap championships on Saturday, June 13. The open wheel power of the E-mod class will roar on the high banks on Sunday June 20 in the "Wheel-2-Wheel E-Challenge." This will be a two race gauntlet with nearby ally track Dog Hollow Speedway presenting the E-mods the following night.

The Semi-Late Model Sportsman will be the star division on Saturday July 18 in "Greezed Lightnin." Semi-Late Model Sportsman will race in an exciting twin 20 feature format. Cadets will headline in "Cadet Fury'" on Saturday, August 22. Cadets will thunder around the track 30 times. This event will also include the classic Penn-Mar Vintage Coupes.

Additional events may be announced as time progresses.   Included in consideration are a high-profile tractor pull and a Pro (crate) Late Model date.

Hesston Speedway welcomes all racers with the track's unified rules. Virtually every car in the region is legal to race at Hesston with weight breaks and spoiler differences evening out the competition between more powerful and less powerful cars.

Reserved hillside parking spaces will go on sale in January 2015.   Fans that held those spaces in 2013 have until January 31 to renew and pay.   Any available spaces will go on sale to the public on February 1.   Reserved regular season hillside spots in 2015 include all events through and including Labor Day weekend.

"Motor Mountain" is located in the scenic Raystown Lake and mountain country of central PA and provides a wonderful opportunity for race fans and race teams to make a complete weekend getaway when attending the racing events at Hesston. All fans are provided an excellent view of the action, with grandstand seating and drive-in viewing built high above the racing surface.   Hesston welcomes campers and now offers in track-camping on the back straight viewing ramp.
