MSCCS EVENT AT COLUMBUS SPEEDWAY RAINED OUT*

The Columbus, (MS) forecast from The National Weather Service for today is showers and possibly a thunderstorm, high near 67 and southeast winds at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph -chance of precipitation is 100%, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half-of-an-inch possible.

Tonight's prediction is mostly cloudy with rain likely, mainly before 10 pm, low around 58, with south winds 5 to 10 mph -chance of precipitation is 60%, with new rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter-of-an-inch possible.

Although Saturday's forecast is mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain before 1 pm, high near 71, with south/southwest winds around 5 mph and everything clearing out by Saturday night, the Columbus Speedway track staff and the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series officials have determined to cancel the event because too much rain has fallen, plus the grim looking forecast of today/tonight.

Both parties involved are working towards re-scheduling this race at Columbus Speedway and now the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series will open their season, next Saturday, March 21st at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus (MS).
