On Friday night, the Lucas Oil MLRA Series presided over a $2,000 to win weekend opener. Billy won his heat race in preliminary action and later ran as high as second in the 30-lap headliner. At the checkers, the Batesville, Arkansas superstar found himself in the third position behind only race winner Ryan Gustin and runner-up Jesse Stovall. ![]() At Wheatland on Saturday evening, a $3,000 top prize was on the line in the 'MLRA Spring Nationals' finale. Billy ran fourth in heat race action, but later ran into problems (wheel packed with mud) early in the 40-lap feature event. "Mr. Smooth" was an early retiree and was placed twenty-sixth in the final finishing order. Complete results from Lucas Oil Speedway can be viewed online at www.mlraracing.com. With the early cancellation of the 'Bad Boy 98' at the nearby Batesville (AR) Motor Speedway, Billy has changed his schedule to include a pair of high-profile specials in the Hawkeye State of Iowa. The Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa will kick off the April 17-19 weekend on Friday night with a $4,000 to win program, while 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa will host the $10,555 to win 'Slocum 50' on Saturday evening. There is a chance that Billy also enters Sunday's stop at Quad City Speedway in East Moline, Illinois, as a $3,000 payday will be up for grabs. Each of these races will be tri-sanctioned by the MARS, ALMS, and Corn Belt Clash tours. More information can be accessed by pointing your web browser to www.marsracingseries.com.
