The Ultimate Super Late Model Series presided over the single day showdown and a $5,000 winner's check was up for grabs. Ray Cook grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his B-Main and later started from the outside of the ninth row in the 50-lap headliner. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace then rallied up inside of the top ten in the 'Firecracker 500' before pulling off the racing surface late in the distance with a rear end vibration and settling for a twelfth place showing. The #53 team will now set their sights on the 28th edition of the 'Paul "Butterball" Wooldridge Memorial' on Saturday evening, July 18 at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky. The Southern Nationals Bonus Series will make their way to the 3/10-mile bullring to sanction the historic race, which boasts a $10,028 payday. A full show featuring qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and a 59-lap main event will thrill the fans in attendance in the Bluegrass State this Saturday.
