Jared Landers Records Top Five in North-South 100; Topless 100 Next

BATESVILLE, Arkansas (August 12) - Jared Landers powered his Crop Production Services #777 Mark Martin Automotive/Sweet Bloomquist/Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model to a 5th place finish in last weekend’s 33rd Annual Sunoco Race Fuels North-South 100 at Florence Speedway.
Jared Landers traveled to Florence Speedway (Union, Kentucky) on Friday night for the opening round of the annual Sunoco Race Fuels North-South 100 presented by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). With 62 Super Late Models registered for battle, Landers captured a first round heat race victory. Finishing 3rd in his second heat, Landers transferred into the pole dash for Saturday night’s main event. The Batesville, Arkansas driver streaked to the win in the dash to earn the pole-position for the 100 lap finale. Contending for a $50,000 payday, Landers battled in the top five throughout the event before crossing the finish line in the 5th position behind race winner, Jonathan Davenport, Scott Bloomquist, Mike Marlar, and Dale McDowell.
“Our car was really good all weekend, and in the feature it was good again,” said Landers. “We lost some ground early in the race, but I was able to get things rolling as the laps wound down and came away with a good run for our team.” He concluded by saying, “Things are really starting to click for this team, and I can’t wait for the Topless 100 next weekend.”

Jared will enter familiar territory this weekend, August 13th-15th, when he enters the 23rd Annual COMP Cams Topless 100 presented by Crop Production Services at his home track, Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas). Not only does the race give Landers the rare chance to race close to home, but it also lets him return to the scene of his biggest career win, which came in the 2010 edition of the Topless 100. Landers banked $40,000 for his winning efforts that year, and will be looking to claim a second, crown jewel triumph this weekend. The weekend, which is sanctioned by the LOLMDS, will culminate with $40,000-to-win/$2,000-to-start finale on Saturday evening.
