Pegher, Jr. Claims Spring Sizzler 25
Broniszewski Victorious in Sportsman Action;
Norris, Schneider and O'Neill Also Earn Wins

PITTSBURGH, PA -- Racing action at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway continued on Saturday, April 27th with Mike Pegher, Jr. scoring a convincing victory over Joe Martin in the Precise Racing Products RUSH Pro-Late Model Spring Sizzler 25. Jeff Bronszewski picked up his first win in Sunoco Race Fuels Late Model Sportsman action while Michael Norris claimed his second in Diehl of Robinson Super Late Model Division main event. Christian Schneider also tallied another Hobby Stock win and Roman O'Neill was the winner in Young Guns action.

Mike Pegher, Jr. and Nico Dabecco led the 25 lap RUSH Pro-Late Spring Sizzler event to the green flag. Pegher, Jr. took command of the top spot while Joe Martin grabbed second from Dabecco with Josh Holtgraver, Kyle Lukon and Laura Lukon also battling for positions three through six. The event was slowed for two late race cautions on laps 19 and 23 but Pegher, Jr. maintained the top spot and scored his first victory of 2013 in the #1 Cochran/Triple S Auto Outlet Rocket Chassis. Martin claimed the runner-up spot over Kyle Lukon, Josh Holtgraver and Laura Lukon.

Pegher, Jr., Kyle Lukon and Justin Lamb scored the wins in the prelims.

Pegher, Jr. also set fast time for the Spring Sizzler 25 with a one lap time of 20.391. K. Lukon (20.624), Michael Reft (20.648), Nico Dabecco (20.689) and Colton Flinner (20.777) rounded out the top five in qualifying.

Michael Norris claimed his second Diehl of Robinson Super Late Model feature event of the young season as he led the entire distance of the 25 lap feature. Norris, like Pegher, Jr., in the prior main event, quickly claimed the top spot while Tony Musolino, Alex Ferree and Lynn Geisler waged a two and three wide battle for the second spot. The event's lone caution flew on lap 21 when Kyle Lukon tagged Keith Barbara, who was slowing, and then spun in turns three and four. Barbara then retired from the event. When racing resumed, Norris once again withstood the challenges of Musolino and company to pick up the victory. Musolino has his best ever PPMS Super Late Model finish in the runner-up position over Geisler, Ferree and Ben Miley.

Veterans Geisler and Steve Baker were victorious in heat race action.

The Late Model Sportsman feature event was definitely the most exciting event of the afternoon. Veteran Wayne Carbo led the first two circuits before Gary Koteles wrestled the top spot away from him. Lap four found Carbo back in front with G. Koteles, Jeff Bronszewski and Bill Robertson pressuring the leader. On lap ten Bronszewski overtook Carbo by sliding into the lead in turn four. Bronszewski then went on to score his first Late Model Sportsman win of 2013 over Robertson, G, Koteles, Brian Huchko and Joey Koteles.

Huchko was victorious in the lone Sportsman heat event.

Christian Schneider continued his winning streak as the 16 year old Robinson Township resident once again led the entire distance of the Hobby Stock main event. Hannah Ramsey and Chase Evans rounded out the field.

Schneider also scored the Hobby Stock heat win.

Fourteen year old Roman O'Neill scored the win in Young Guns action as the Frazer Township resident led the entire distance of the six lap main event and picked up his first victory of the 2013 season. Dylan Bolind, Karlee Kovacs and Jonathan Miller rounded out the field.

The racing action at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway continues next Saturday, May 4th as we present the Silver Anniversary Season Evening Blastoff event featuring the Super Late Models, RUSH Pro-Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stocks and Young Guns will also be in action.
