Dennis Erb Racing's Weekend Highlighted by Runner-Up in Deuces Wild at Granite City

CARPENTERSVILLE, IL (April 23) - Dennis Erb Racing, after pulling off the National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) tour, traveled to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa over the April 18-19 weekend.  On Friday night at Granite City, a 'Deuces Wild' program was held at the St. Louis area venue and a $2,000 top prize was on the line.  Dennis Erb, Jr. advanced up to third in his heat race and later placed fourth in the dash to earn the outside second row starting spot in the UMP main event.  The Carpentersville, Illinois ace was then able to move up a couple of positions during the feature on his way to a strong runner-up effort behind only victor Bobby Pierce.

On Saturday evening, the action quickly shifted to Burlington for the annual running of the 'Slocum 50,' which boasted a hefty $10,555 winner's check.  The MARS DIRTcar Series, Corn Belt Clash, and American Late Model Series (ALMS) tri-sanctioned the event and a stout field of 46 competitors piled into the pit area.  Dennis was unfortunately unable to transfer into the 50-lap main event after finishing seventh in both his heat race and his B-Main.  Complete results from both Granite City and Burlington can be found by logging onto www.tricityspeedway.net and www.34raceway.com.

The #28 team will head east on April 25-26, as they will rejoin the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in the states of Maryland and Pennsylvania.  The legendary Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland will kick off the doubleheader weekend on Friday with the annual 'Stanley Schetrompf Founders Day Classic,' while Saturday's showdown at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania will wrap up the weekend.  Both single day shows will pay $10,000 to the winner.  Dennis comes into the next two rounds on the LOLMDS schedule eleventh in the latest version of the national series point standings.  Additional information on these races can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
