Brady Smith Returns to Action in Illini 100; Atomic Blast Next on Schedule

SOLON SPRINGS, WISC (April 30) - For the first time since the completion of Speedweeks 2014 in Florida, Brady Smith was in competition on April 25-26 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois.  The World of Outlaws Late Model Series once again presided over the 6th Annual 'Illini 100' and a whopping $20,000 top prize was up for grabs.  In preliminary action on Friday night, Brady clicked off the fourteenth fastest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to winding up eighth in his stacked heat race.

When Saturday evening rolled around at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds venue, Brady advanced up to third in his consolation event to grab the final transfer spot behind only B-Main winner Darren Friedman and runner-up Steve Sheppard, Jr.  After rolling off from the outside of the eleventh row in the 100-lap extra-distance affair, Brady stayed on the lead lap and was able to climb seven positions en route to a fifteenth place performance.  Complete results from the 'Illini 100' weekend can be accessed by visiting www.woolms.com.

Following Farmer City, the Brady Smith Racing team is scheduled to enjoy the upcoming May 2-3 weekend away from the racetrack.  They will be hard at work on their #2 Rocket racecars; however, as a trip to the Buckeye State of Ohio is planned for May 9-10.  The National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) will preside over the 'Atomic Blast' weekend at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio and two complete shows will be held at the track formerly known as K-C Raceway.  A $5,000 payday will be on the line in Friday's weekend opener, while a hefty $15,000 winner's check will be handed out following Saturday's weekend finale.  Additional information concerning the NDRL 'Atomic Blast' can be found by pointing your web browser to www.thendrl.com.
