BATTLE OF THE BLUEGRASS SIGNS 3-YEAR DEAL WITH GOODYEAR

LOUISVILLE, Kent. (Jan. 28, 2010) -- The Battle of the Bluegrass Dirt Car Series (BOB Series) is proud to announce that it has reached an agreement with ST Racing Tires and The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company that will change the sport of dirt racing. For the next three years, Goodyear will be the official and exclusive Tire for the BOB dirt late model program.

The BOB Series competes on dirt ovals across Kentucky, as well as in Tennessee and Ohio. It is among the most popular programs of its kind in the region.

“We are very excited about working with ST and Goodyear,” said BOB Series CEO Tom McConnell. “ST and Goodyear have put together an excellent package that will be very good for our racers and the BOB Series. In fact, it is the best package we have ever had. We know 2010 will be a good year for the BOB Series. Goodyear has come up with a program that will save the racers a lot of money and time and benefit our series.”

All racers will use the same tires as a result of the Goodyear contract. The BOB Series will sell the tires and every tire will be sold to the racers at the same price.

“Over the last several years, some racers were given tires that were different from other tires sold to other racers and this program will eliminate any special deals or tires. The other tires, though legal, were better than what many racers were able to buy,” McConnell said.

The Goodyear Racing Eagles will be race ready. No cutting or grooving will be allowed on the Goodyear Tires. “It takes about 12 hours to cut and groove the other tires we were using, and the Goodyear deal will eliminate the headaches of grooving the tires and that will save the racers time and money,” McConnell noted.

Details about the 2010 championship point fund will be announced at the upcoming BOB Series banquet on February 19, 2010 in Lexington, Kentucky. A Goodyear Representative will be present to provide information about Goodyear’s tires and racing program.
