Knight wins opener at Eriez in an exciting last lap pass

Kinder MotorSports Media
Ripley, NY- (May 5, 2010) – Dirt Late Model pilot, Mike Knight, gave the crowd (who braved the possibility of t-storms) at Eriez Speedway their money’s worth Sunday evening when he won the Super Late Model feature with a last lap pass over Doug Eck. This marks “Hollywood’s” second win of the season and first at the track that he scored the 2007 Super Late Model Championship.

“It’s great to log a win and especially at Eriez in front of many of my fans and sponsors,” added Knight. “We always work real hard to keep the cars in good shape so it’s also good to score a win after three nights of racing on the cars.”

“Hollywood’s” weekend started in Sarver, PA - Lernerville Speedway where he logged a 6th place finish with Guy Webb’s O’Reilly Circuit of Champions Dirt Late Model Series. Saturday found the team close to home at Stateline Speedway (NY) for the United late Model Series (ULMS) where Knight had a strong car but finished just shy of top ten. “I used every bit of racetrack and car that I could, but ended up 11th, “explained Knight. “I’m not terribly disappointed, there’s always next week!”

Knight has been doing some travelling leading up to his ‘home-coming.’ Fans in the Eastern part of the Pennsylvania got to see the 9k in action in the early weeks of April, this time driving with the Three State Flyers series. Knight transferred to the A-Main and ended up 11th at the Sprint Car speed plant, Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsville, PA. He started off-pole the next night at Hagerstown Speedway (MD)and found himself in the wrong place-wrong time which resulted in Knight getting tangled up and ending his night on a wrecker.

Knight, always positive, looks to the future with bright eyes, “Those races (Three State Flyers) are all behind us now and this weekend gives merit to that. We had decent finishes and a win so things will definitely be getting better.”

“Hollywood” Mike Knight can be found via his website www.mikeknight9k.com where fans can find tour dates, results, and merchandise.

Knight drives the Arrowhead Wine Cellars, Corry Chrysler, Jay’s Auto Wrecking, Jim’s Automotive Parts, NYPenn Surveying, Country 98, Key Point Reality, Keystone Alliance Insurance services, LLC., Ottoway’s Auto Body, Ripley Machine and Tool, Sprague Farm and Brew Works, GW Performance, Knight Operating, TeCulver Contracting, MWB Graphics and Web Design, Kinder Motorsports Media, Ohlin’s Shocks, American Race Tire, Tobber Racing, KRC Power Steering, VP Racing Fuels, Simpson Race Products, Rocket, Pontiac GTO
