Indiana Late Model Series Visits Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 14

Junction City, KY-May 9, 2010- After being closed last Friday, Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz return with racing action at “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday May 14 as the Indiana Late Model Series will make its first ever visit to the 3/8 mile D-shaped clay oval.
The Indiana Late Model Series is a traveling regional tour that sanction Pro (Crate) Late Model racing events. The May 14 event will feature a full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the $1,000 to win Indiana Late Model Series A-Main. Also on the racing card for May 14 will be the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, also racing for $1,000 to win. Joining the Pro Late Model and Super Late Model divisions will be the Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds, racing for $600 to win and the D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman will compete for $300 to win.

Activities for this May 14 event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the grandstand area open at 5:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting takes place at 6:45 p.m., with practice set to begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:30 p.m., and racing taking the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free. A pit pass will be $30.

Ponderosa Speedway last raced on April 30 and feature event winners included Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN in Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models, Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Kelly Warren of Columbia, KY in Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds, and Gerald Haynes, Jr. of Somerset, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman.

Ponderosa Speedway is located just off of 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday evenings from April through early October.
