LAKE CUMBERLAND SPEEDWAY/NASRA SERIES TAKE # 2At a Glance-

After being rained out last Saturday May 15th, the Lake Cumberland Speedway along with the NASRA Series will try take # 2 of the $3,000 to win event this Saturday Night May 22nd and the $300 to win FWD special will be postponed until May 29th at the Speedway. Below are details from the scheduled May 15th event that are the same as this Saturday’s make-up date.
WHO
*The LAKE CUMBERLAND SPEEDWAY in Somerset/Burnside and the NASRA Series will sanction this dirt late model racing event. Track owners Brandon & Casey Hardgrove (siblings) have quickly (since late 2009) placed this semi-banked clay bull ring back on its feet. Hall of Fame Chassis Builder and former race-car driver C.J. Rayburn founded this series in 2009, with the first event held in August 2009 at Moler (OH) Raceway Park. The series only held five events during 2009 and crowned Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, GA its champion. The series held events in 2009 at Ferrell’s Bluegrass Speedway, a double header weekend at Western KY and Windy Hollow Speedways and dirt late model promoter Chris Tilley even invited the NASRA to join the Iron-Man Classic, an annual event held in Eastern Kentucky.
WHAT
*The LAKE CUMBERLAND SPEEDWAY in its 30th season will host it's first of three NASRA events of 2010, and the first-ever event held at the track. Many Super Late Model teams from around the region will be vying for over $12,000 purse that pays $3,000 to the winner of the 40-lap feature.
WHEN
*On Saturday Night May 22nd, the LAKE CUMBERLAND SPEEDWAY will open the pit gates at 3:00 p.m. EST with general admission grandstand gates opening at 4:00 p.m. Racing is set to begin with practice for the NASRA Late Models at 7:00 p.m.
WHERE
*LAKE CUMBERLAND SPEEDWAY is located five miles south of Somerset in historic Burnside, KY on the East side of US Highway 27. The track/office phone is (606) 561-8994.
TICKETS
*On Saturday May 22nd, adult tickets will be $15.00, with children 6-10 just $5.00, and kids 5-under will be admitted free. Pit Passes will be $35.00.
PRE-RACE
*Concession Stands serving a variety of Coca-Cola products opens up shortly after 4PM. Driver sign-in for local classes will be held at the Pit Gate, while NASRA registration and entry will take place at the C.J. Rayburn/NASRA Motorhome located in the pit area. At 6:30 PM a driver’s meeting will be called for all drivers to be held at the pit grandstand area.
RULES

www.nasra.com website. Minimum punch 58 durometer rule on the rear. Hoosier 1600, WRS-2-55, D-55, LM-40; American Racer MD-56 and Goodyear G-50.
PROGRAM
*NASRA Super Late Model qualifying: 2 laps. Heat Races (8-10 laps), ‘B’ Mains, 40-Lap ‘A’ Main feature… LAKE CUMBERLAND SPEEDWAY divisions: Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Dirt Stocks, Chevettes and FWD will be racing for DOUBLE POINTS, the Late Models will not have track points that night. The $300 to win FWD Feature that was scheduled will be ran on Sat. May 29th.
