I-80 Speedway and Adams County Speedway this Weekend

Buckner, MO  - On the heels of a stout three day swing through Missouri with wins captured by John Anderson and Terry Phillips, the Stars and Cars of the Lucas Oil MLRA head north this weekend for a Double Header beginning with a visit to the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska on Friday night, July 2nd followed by the first visit of 2010 to the Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa on Saturday night, July 3rd. Both events will be co-sanctioned with the NCRA and the MARS Dirtcar Series.

Republic, Missouri's Brad Looney continues to lead the Lucas Oil MLRA points standings, although the margin is now just 10 points over 6-Time and Defending Lucas Oil MLRA Champion Al Purkey out of Coffeyville, Kansas heading into the Double Header this weekend. Oxford, Iowa's Dave Eckrich sits in the third spot only 12 points behind the leader Looney. Terry Phillips sits in fourth after scoring a pair of wins this past weekend at Missouri's State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri and the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri. Phillip's Teammate Jeremy Payne has now worked his way into the Top-5 heading into this weekend's action. Joe Kosiski, Chris Spieker, Evan Hubert, John Anderson, and Bill Koons round out the Top-10. Pit gates open at 3:00pm on Friday for the Midwest Tri-Fecta Challenge at I-80 Speedway with spectator gates set to open at 5:30pm. Racing action is set to get underway at 7:00pm. Adult tickets are just $20 with Juniors only $8, and kids 5 and under FREE. This will be a co-sanctioned event with the top drivers from the NCRA and the MARS Dirtcar Series set to do battle with the Lucas Oil MLRA. ASCS Sprint Cars and IMCA Modifieds are also on the card for a full night of racing action.

The I-80 Speedway is located off Interstate I-80 at Exit 420 between Omaha and Lincoln and is part of the Nebraska Raceway Park Complex, which also includes the Little Sunset Speedway Go-Kart track and the Soaring Edge Motorcross Track. On Saturday, July 3rd at the Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa the Pit gates will open at 4:00pm with the grandstand gates set to open at 5:00pm. Adult admission is just $15, Youth (13-18) are $10, and 12 and under are FREE. NASCAR Whelen All American Series Hobby Stocks, Pro-Stocks, and Modifieds will be racing in support of the Super Late Models. This event will also be co-sanctioned by the NCRA and the MARS Dirtcar Series. Pit passes will be $30 for adults and $10 for minors.

The evening will end with a spectacular fireworks show courtesy of the Adams County Fair and Racing Association. Even the concession stand will be celebrating the holiday with a special platter of Ray's smoked pork and his world famous baked beans.
