The Tri-Star Pittsburgher, Big Kahuna & The Ultimate Close Out 2010 UFo Season

(MARS PA) - The UFo Super Late Models will attack Pennsylvania's PA Motor Speedway for the 22nd annual "Tri Star Pittsburgher" this weekend, September 16-17-18. Over $99,000 in feature payoff is available at this mega-event featuring UFo/ULMS Super Late Models, BRP Big Block Modifieds, 410 Outlaw Sprints, FASTRAK Pro-Lates, UEMS/TSMA E-mods, Cadets, Hobby & Young Guns. The Super Late Models will compete for $10,000 possible to win in this event with 32 car-starting grid features.

An open practice will take place Thursday night, September 16 at PPMS. Gates will open at 5:00 PM with practice sessions from 7:00 to 10:00. Pit admission will be $20 with free grandstand admission.

Unsanctioned Super Late Models will compete for $2,000 to win on Friday, September 17 at PPMS with the BRP Big Block Modifieds racing for $1,500. FASTRAK Pro-Lates, UEMS/TSMA E-mods, Cadets, Hobby and Young Guns will compete in their qualifying heat races. Super Late Models will utilize UFo rules and procedures. Pit gates will open at 3:00 PM with grandstand gates opening at 5:00, warm-ups at 6:00 and racing at 7:00 PM. Adult admission is $20, Juniors 13-16 $15 Children 7-12 $10 and Pits $35.

On Saturday, Night September 18 at PPMS, the UFo/ULMS Super Late Models will compete in a full racing program with a 66 lap championship feature paying $7,000 to the winner, $1,000 for 6th, $500 for 14th, $400 for 24th and $375 to start. The 410 Outlaw Sprints will also compete in a full racing program on the track where they hit maximum speeds. The 410 Outlaw Sprint feature will pay $2,500 to the winner and $230 to start. The other divisions will compete in their championship features paying $800 to win and $200 to start for the FASTRAK Pro-Lates, $1,200 to win and $200 to start for the UEMS E-mods, $500 to win and $150 to start for the Cadets, and $200 to win and $100 to start for the Hobby and Young Guns.

The pit gates at PPMS on Saturday, September 18 will open at 11:00 am with grandstand opening at 12:00 noon. If consolation races for the Pro-Late, E-mod and Cadet classes are needed, those races will start at 4:30 followed by warm-ups at 5:30 and the Hobby & Young Gun championship features. The track will be re-prepped and the Super Late Model & 410 Outlaw Sprint racing will start approximately 6:30 to 7:00 PM. Adult admission is $28, Juniors 13-16 $15, Children 7-12 $10 and Pits $38. Two day combo tickets good for Friday and Saturday will be available at $45 for the grandstands and $70 for the pits. The "Tri Star Pittsburgher" features free unlimited camping in 2010. The rain date for the "Tri-Star Pittsburgher" is Sunday, September 19.

The UFo Race Championship will close out the 2010 season in the month of October with 2 back-to-back weekend events. "The Big Kahuna" at The Rock Speedway at Cumberland, MD on September 30 and October 1-2 will now be part of the UFo tour. Western Pennsylvania's Super Late Model season finale finds a new home in 2010 as "The Ultimate" for the UFo Super Late Models will land at the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex on Thursday-Friday-Saturday, October 7-8-9. "The Ultimate" will finish off a successful season for the UFo Race Championship tour and determine the 2010 UFo Race Champion from the close points battle.

"The Big Kahuna" will mark the 1st UFo Race Championship event in the state of Maryland. The Rock Speedway is promoted by Oval Track Promotions, which also owns the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex and is a major member in the UFo alliance. This multi-day event will feature 2 separate Super Late Model programs with a total of $7,000 to win.

"The Big Kahuna" weekend will start at The Rock with an open practice for all divisions on Thursday night, October 7. The pit gates will open at 5:00, grandstands at 6:00 with practice sessions from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. Pit admission will be $20 with free grandstand admission.

On Friday night, October 1 at The Rock, the unsanctioned Super Late Models will run a full racing program with a $2,000 to win, $200 to start, 30-lap feature event. UFo car rules and procedures will be in effect both nights. The Hobby class will compete for $300 to win while the Roadrunner factory 4-cylinder stocks will compete for $250. Gates will open at 4:00 with warm-ups at 6:30 and racing at 7:00 PM.

The UFo Super Late Models will make their debut at The Rock on Saturday night, October 2 as "The Big Kahuna" finale will pay $$5,000 to win, $350 to start for the 44-lap feature event. The Limited Lates will compete for $1,000 to win in a 30-lap championship feature and the Street Stocks will compete for $500 to win. Gates will open at 4:00 with warm-ups at 6:30 and racing at 7:00 PM. Camping is available for the weekend at The Rock. The rain date for the event is Sunday, October 3.

"The Ultimate" will be the largest weekend of racing at Roaring Knob to date with $7,000 total to win for the Super Late Models. "The Ultimate" was the premier event of the now-defunct Challenger Raceway for 14 years. It evolved from an initial $1,000 to win Semi-Late race called "FallFest" into "The Utlimate" mammoth Super Late Model national championship event. This inaugural version of the race at Roaring Knob will serve as the launching pad to build the event into the future at the track. This Pennsylvania fall tradition is famous for attracting large car counts as well as massive crowds of spectators. Friday will feature unsanctioned Super Late Models with Saturday being the UFo Race Championship points finale. Super Late Models will race under UFo car rules and procedures both nights.

The crate motor Pro-Late Models and E-mods will compete in the "Spectacular FallFest Championships" with Roaring Knob's Street and Charger classes also in action. The FASTRAK Pro-Late Model Northeast Touring Series will pay $2,000 to the winner with the E-mod championship paying $750 to win. The Roadrunner factory stock 4-cylinders will also race for $250 to win.

The weekend will kick off with an open practice for all divisions on Thursday night, October 7. The pit gates will open at 5:00, grandstands at 6:00 with practice sessions from 7:00 to 9:30 PM.

The "Night Flight Scramble" on Friday night, October 8 will see the unsanctioned Super Late Models compete in a full racing program with a 36-lap, $2,000 to win , $200 to start feature. Also on the racing program are the FASTRAK Pro-Lates lap qualifying heat racings as well as the FASTRAK Pro-Late rained out feature from September 11. The Street Stocks and Chargers will compete in full racing programs along with the Charger rained out feature. Pit gates will open at 4:00 with grandstands opening at 5:00, warm-ups at 6:30 and racing at 7:00 PM.

On Saturday night, October 9, the UFo Super Late Models will compete in a full racing program with a 55-lap, $5,000 to win, $350 to start season finale for the tour. The FASTRAK Pro-Lates will compete in a 30 lap Northeast Touring Series championship paying $2,000 to win as well as their consolation races. The E-mods will compete in a full racing program on Saturday with a 25 lap, $750 to win championship feature along with their rained out feature from September 11.

Pit gates will open at 3:00 on Saturday, October 9 at Roaring Knob with grandstands opening at 4:00 and warm-ups at 5:30 and racing at 6:00 PM. The rain date for the event is Sunday, October 10.

Camping will be permitted for "The Ultimate" at Roaring Knob with the following guidelines. Camping will begin Thursday, October 7 at noon and all campers must check in with track management for assigned parking. Camping will be on a first-come, first serve basis with no pre-marking of camping areas permitted at any time. ATV's will not be permitted in the parking or camping areas, but electric golf carts will be allowed. No campfires will be permitted.

The highest finishing Super Late Model driver from "The Big Kahuna" and "The Ultimate" tune-up $2,000 Super Late Model features on Friday that does not qualify for the feature events on Saturday will be the track provisional starter for each race. Additionally, Oval Track Promotions has announced that the winner for "The Big Kahuna" 44-lap Super Late Model feature on October 2 will be a guaranteed starter at "The Ultimate" 55-lap feature on October 9.
