Bub McCool Makes First World 100 Main Event; Tri City & Riverside Next

Vicksburg, MS (09/14/10) – Bub McCool registered a proud moment in his career over the weekend as he powered his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Roush Yates Racing Engine Super Late Model to his first ever World 100 main event at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio).

Bub entered the 40th Annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) over the course of last weekend. The $43,000 to win event drew a field of 134 of the nation's best Super Late Model pilots, and Bub's weekend started on a high note as he nailed the invert after timing in 36th fastest and seeing the top 36 cars inverted for heat race action. As a result, he started first in the last heat race. In the heat race, he would chase Jack Sullivan until the race's midway point, when Sullivan blew a motor allowing McCool to inherit the lead. Bub would maintain the lead for the next few laps before Bart Hartman slipped by to take the lead, relegating McCool to a second place finish. Via his second place finish he started 7th in the 100 lap feature, which was his first ever World 100 main event.

In the feature, Bub would not get a good start, and would lose several spots at the drop of the green flag. He would rebound to pass a few cars, but when the caution flag flew shortly after lap 30, McCool would duck into the pits for a tire change. He would rejoin the tail of the pack and over the remainder of the event would race back to a 15th place finish in the year's biggest event.

This weekend, McCool will enter a pair of events as he travels to Illinois and Arkansas. On Friday, September 17th he will head north to Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois) for the Dodge Ram 50, which will pay $7,000 to win. On Saturday night, the team will make their first ever trip to Riverside International Speedway for the 4th Annual Midsouth Dirt Track Championship, which will be sanctioned by the COMP Cams MSRA, and will see a $3,500 to win/$400 to start, 40 lap feature contested.
