Bluegrass Speedway 2010 Championship Awards Banquet Set for October 31

Bardstown, KY-September 26, 2010- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will officially put the finishing touches on the 2010 racing season, concluding their 11th season of dirt racing promotion at Bluegrass Speedway, on Sunday afternoon, October 31 with the 2010 Championship Awards Banquet.

The top ten drivers in each division will be honored and recognized for their accomplishments at Bluegrass Speedway for the 2010 race season, with the top six point getters in each receiving a trophy and money. The Super Late Model Rookie of the Year will also be honored that afternoon as well. The top ten racers in each division, along with the Super Late Model rookie of the year, and one guest will be admitted free to the awards banquet, which will take place on Sunday afternoon, October 31. Admission for all additional guests will be $10 per person, while children ages 12 and under will be $5.

The 2010 Championship Awards Banquet will take place on Sunday afternoon, October 31 at Samuels Hall, which is located next door to Bluegrass Speedway at the Nelson County Fairgrounds. Doors will open for social hour at 1:00 p.m., with the meal being served at 2:00 p.m., followed by the recognition of the best of the best racers at Bluegrass Speedway in 2010, with the awards ceremony culminating in the crowning of 2010 track champions.

Track champions for the 2010 racing season at Bluegrass Speedway are Tim Tungate of Campbellsville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY in UMP Modifieds, Avral Thompson of Loretto, KY in WBRT 1320-AM UMP Sportsman, and Timmy Glazer of Bardstown, KY in UMP Street Stocks. Wesley Brummett of Harrodsburg, KY is the 2010 Norman Copley Super Late Model Rookie of the Year.

Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road at the intersection of Kentucky Highway 31-E and exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway. David and Anita Ferrell are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment on Saturday evenings from mid-April through September.
