Dale McDowell Finds Victory Lane at Lakeside; Gears Up for Lucas Oil Series Finale

(CHICKAMAUGA, GEORGIA) Dale McDowell, of Chickamauga, Georgia, recorded his third feature victory of the 2010 season on Saturday night, October 2 at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas! The Lucas Oil MLRA Series sanctioned the event at Lakeside, which used to be the old stomping ground for car owner Clint Bowyer. Dale won his heat race in preliminary action and later dominated the 40-lap main event to score the $5,000 payday over teammate Jared Landers, Al Purkey, Travis Dickes, and Keith Foss!

Earlier in the weekend, Dale also competed in a $3,000 to win MLRA program on Friday evening at Lakeside. After encountering problems in his heat race, the driver known as the "MacDaddy" improved to second in his B-Main to earn a coveted transfer position into the feature event. During the course of the 30-lapper at the 1/2-mile oval, Dale maneuvered his #17m Warrior racecar past multiple competitors to secure a twelfth place performance. Full results from the Lakeside doubleheader can be viewed online at www.mlraracing.com.

"It was awesome to score a one-two finish for Clint Bowyer Racing at Lakeside last Saturday, especially since the boss was there watching us," exclaimed McDowell via telephone this afternoon. "The only thing that would have made the night better is if we got Clint (Bowyer) into victory lane himself in his Open Wheel Modified. It means a lot to him to come back home and race at Lakeside, so it feels great that we could get him a win at his old stomping ground. I have to thank Clint, the entire team, and all of our marketing partners for their support and we will try to close out the Lucas Oil season with a bang this weekend!"

The 2010 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule will conclude this upcoming weekend (October 9-10) with a pair of $10,000 to win programs in the state of Georgia. Dale will compete in the 'Dixie Shootout' on Saturday night at the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia before traveling to the ultra-fast Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia on Sunday for the 'Rome Showdown.' The cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand at Dixie to tape all of the wheel-to-wheel action at the 3/8-mile, D-shaped venue for broadcast later in the year. Dale comes into the final two events sixth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. Additional information on Dixie and Rome can be found by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
