Scott James Turns Focus on Eldora Following Knoxville Late Model Nationals

(BRIGHT, INDIANA)  The Scott James Motorsports team trekked west to the legendary Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa from September 30-October 2 for the 7th Annual 'Knoxville Late Model Nationals.' Action got underway at Knoxville with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary races on Thursday and Friday at the 1/2-mile, Marion County fairgrounds complex. Scott James ran third in his heat race on Thursday and later wound up twelfth in the final rundown of the night's 25-lap main event. On Friday evening, Scott won his stacked heat race prior to notching an eleventh place performance in the $7,000 to win A-Main.

By virtue of his strong preliminary effort on Friday, Scott amassed the nineteenth highest nightly point total, which locked him into Saturday's $40,000 to win 'Knoxville Late Model Nationals.' In front of the SPEED Channel cameras in the 100-lapper, the Bright, Indiana native unfortunately suffered mechanical troubles (broken liftbar bracket) early in the race and retired in the thirty-first position.
