Josh McGuire Grabs Sixth Victory of 2010 Season Last Saturday at Portsmouth

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team racked up their sixth feature victory of the 2010 season last Saturday night, October 9 at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio! Josh McGuire started out the evening by laying down the fastest lap during the qualifying session at PRP, which earned him fast time honors.

After finishing sixth in the dash, Josh rolled off from the outside of the third row in the 25-lap main event. The Grayson, Kentucky native lived up to his nickname of "Bad Fast" in the A-Main, as he grabbed the top spot with five circuits remaining and cruised to the popular $2,000 triumph. Josh reached victory lane by defeating Butch Dowdy, Jr., Jackie Boggs, R.J. Conley, and Derek Fisher. Full results from the southern Ohio venue can be found online at www.portsraceway.com.

"It had been awhile since we have been into victory lane, so it felt really good last Saturday night at Portsmouth," stated McGuire over the phone this week. "We have had some strong runs in the past month or so, but just haven't been able to put a complete night together for whatever reason. Maybe this win will turn our luck around a little bit and we can close out the season on a high note. I have to thank all of my family, crew, and sponsors for all of their support, as well as all of the fans!"

Following the win at Portsmouth, the #41 team has opted to take the upcoming October 15-16 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition. Josh and the team are slated to return to action on October 22-23 at the Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi. The 16th Annual 'Fall Classic' will be held at Whynot next weekend and a $15,000 winner's check will be on the line. Additional information on the unsanctioned program can be located by clicking on www.whynotmotorsportspark.com.
